Acts 7:17 - 22 Moses
1. The Time for the Prophet -
The Prepared Time - 17 But when the time of the promise drew nigh,
The Promised Time - which God had sworn to Abraham,
The Perfect Time - the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,
Galatians 4
Position - 1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child,
differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
Preparation - 2 but is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
Perdition - 3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
Provision -
It's Time - 4 but when the fulness of the time was come,
It's Truth - God sent forth his Son,
It's Trust - made of a woman,
It's Track - made under the law,
It's Task - 5 to redeem them that were under the law,
It's Triumph - that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Possession -
The Condition - 6 And because ye are sons,
The Contribution - God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts,
The Confirmation - crying, Abba, Father.
Promotion -
The Past - 7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant,
The Present - but a son;
The Promise - and if a son, then an heir of God
The Path - through Christ.
1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:
2. The Test for the Prophet -
Another Person - 18 till another king
Another Power - till another king arose
Another Problem - which knew not Joseph.
3. The Trouble for the Prophet -
Deceit - 19 The same dealt subtilly with our kindred,
Distress - and evil entreated our fathers,
Death - so that they cast out their young children,
Destruction - to the end they might not live.
4. The Trial for the Prophet -
The Timing of His Birth - 20 In which time Moses was born,
The Telling in His Birth - and was exceeding fair, and
The Tending at His Birth - nourished up in his father’s house 3 months
5. The Trust for the Prophet -
His Rejection - 21 and when he was cast out,
His Reception - Pharaoh’s daughter took him up,
His Retention - and nourished him for her own son.
6. The Training for the Prophet -
His Education - 22 And Moses was learned
His Elevation - in all the wisdom of the Egyptians,
His Exaltation - and was mighty in words and in deeds.
