‘Study More, Preach Less'
Billy Graham
"One of my great regrets is that I have not studied enough. I wish I had studied more and preached less. People have pressured me into speaking to groups when I should have been studying and preparing. Donald Barnhouse said that if he knew the Lord was coming in three years he would spend two of them studying and one preaching. I'm trying to make it up.” Christianity Today

I get the point, but if I am not preaching while I am studying, I will miss many opportunities to win souls and edify saints. It has be a balance, which is hard because of the demands of a congregation for their preacher. Now days, a preacher as to be a CEO and a CFO when is calling is to be the CIO. So, in essence a congregation gets in a message what time they give their pastor to study.
There are many sites out there where the pastor can get a sermon ready made with the outline and even the PowerPoint. I have contributed many of mine to one site, but do not use those sites for myself.
I do not worry if they quote me or give me credit because if I got anything worthwhile I got it freely from God so I give it freely. All truth is His so if I am giving out truth it is He who should get the credit, not me since without Him I would have nothing.
This is good advice for members. Study more, complain less or study more and do many other things less since God is going to evaluate your study time as much as your pastor's. Just sayin'.
