THE HEARING EYES
"Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valor."Joshua 6:1-2.
Our God, even our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, is a God of Visions and directions. He said in His Word in
(Hebrews 13:5) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Most times, believers are weighed down by what they see rather than what they hear. Situations and circumstances may be cloud a child of God to make such a one begin to doubt what he or she hears. Faith is believing the impossible and seeing them come to pass. God has never left believers in doubt as to directions. He said in His Word in
(Isaiah 30:21) And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
The eye sees the physical things and not the spiritual things and therefore interpreted based on what it sees. This is the reason, Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesian Church then and by extension for every believer when he prayed
(Ephesians 1:18) The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Vision is very essential to the realization of the promise of God as exemplified in various instances in the Bible.
The Lord said to Joshua
Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valor."Joshua 6:1-2.
The gates of destinies may have been shut, the gates to testimonies may have refused to open, that gate to health may not seem to be open but God said to Joshua, See I have given unto thy hands, Jericho even the Mighty men of valour.
Often times, it is like that, if believers do not hear with their eyes, they can easily miss their miracles. Now come with me and read
(Hebrews 11:1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
(Hebrews 11:3) Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Our God is a perfect God who knows the very end of every matter from the beginning hence he is the Alpha and the Omega. He says in His Word
(Revelation 22:13) I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
There is a hearing eyes. The eyes that hears what the Spirit of God is saying beyond situations and circumstances. In barreness the Lord said to Abraham, despite the fact the he and the wife were well stricken in age
(Genesis 17:4) As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
(Genesis 17:5) Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
(Genesis 17:6) And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
Sure, beyond 90 years of age, it would have been impossible for every barren man or woman to again be seeing fruitfulness in the area of child bearing. Why? The eyes will see menopause but God's word says in Luke 1:37
(Luke 1:37) For with God nothing shall be impossible.
Abraham, whilst seeing abject poverty all around him, the Lord said to him
(Genesis 13:14) And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:
(Genesis 13:15) For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
Did Abraham see prosperity at that very material time, certainly no but with the Word of God mixed with faith, Abraham believed against hope.
(Romans 4:18) Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
(Romans 4:19) And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb:
To act beyond what one's physical eyes see is believing the impossible. Isaac was in a barren land where all hope was lost but the Bible says he sowed in that land and reaped a hundred fold harvest.
(Genesis 26:12) Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.
Believers should stop seeing with only their physical eyes but with their ears so as to hear what the Lord says in every situation.
God still speaks beyond what our eyes can see.
The question is, how can I hear God? Give your life to Jesus, invite Him into your life, obey Him, walk and work with Him, He will surely guide you through His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, that teaches us all things beyond what our eyes can see.
Invite Jesus into your life today.
The song writer says:
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obey
Trust and obey, for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey
Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies
But His smile quickly drives it away
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear
Can abide while we trust and obey
Oh, Trust and obey, for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey
Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet
Or we'll walk by His side in the way
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go
Never fear, only trust and obey
Trust and obey, for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey
Oh, Trust and obey, for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
Trust Jesus, Obey Jesus, Walk in Him, surely He will never ever leave you nor forsake you.
