DIVINE HELPERS IN TIMES OF CRISIS

That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven."

INTRODUCTION
Life is filled with moments of crisis—challenges that seem insurmountable, situations that defy human wisdom, and battles that are beyond our strength. In such times, divine helpers play a crucial role in providing support, guidance, and solutions. God never leaves His children without help; He places people in strategic positions to intervene at the right moment.
The story of Daniel reveals the power of divine helpers in crisis. When King Nebuchadnezzar issued a death decree against all the wise men of Babylon for failing to interpret his dream, Daniel sought divine help. He turned to his God-fearing companions—Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah—to intercede with him in prayer. Their collective petition moved the heavens, and God revealed the dream and its interpretation, saving their lives.
In this study, we will explore how God raises divine helpers during times of crisis, the different forms they take, and how to position ourselves to receive divine assistance when we need it most.
1. GOD ORDAINS HELPERS FOR EVERY SEASON OF CRISIS
God never leaves His children without help; He assigns people to provide support during difficult times.
a) Help is Always Available – God is a present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
b) God Uses People as His Hands and Feet – He sends men and women to provide solutions in crisis (Isaiah 41:10).
c) Destiny Helpers Come in Different Forms – They could be spiritual leaders, friends, family, or even strangers (Luke 10:33-35).
d) Divine Help Often Requires Discernment – Some helpers are sent but not easily recognised (Hebrews 13:2).
e) Biblical Example: Joseph in Egypt – God positioned Joseph to interpret Pharaoh’s dream, preventing a national crisis (Genesis 41:14-16).
2. PRAYER ACTIVATES DIVINE HELPERS
In times of crisis, fervent prayer attracts supernatural assistance.
a) Prayer Unlocks Divine Intervention – Daniel and his friends sought God’s mercy, and He answered (Daniel 2:18-19).
b) God Answers the Cries of the Righteous – He is near to those who call upon Him in truth (Psalm 34:17).
c) Corporate Prayer is Powerful – There is power in united prayer (Matthew 18:19).
d) Faith-Filled Prayers Move Heaven – When Peter was in prison, the church’s prayers brought angelic intervention (Acts 12:5-7).
e) Biblical Example: Jehoshaphat’s Battle – Through prayer, God raised a prophetic helper to guide Israel to victory (2 Chronicles 20:14-17).
3. DIVINE HELPERS BRING SOLUTIONS TO DIFFICULT SITUATIONS
When crisis strikes, God provides helpers with wisdom and solutions.
a) Wisdom is Key to Overcoming Crises – God gives wisdom to His chosen vessels (James 1:5).
b) Divine Insight Preserves Lives – Daniel’s interpretation of the dream saved the wise men of Babylon (Daniel 2:24).
c) God Uses Helpers to Reveal Hidden Things – He grants revelation to those who seek Him (Jeremiah 33:3).
d) Crisis Can Lead to Elevation – God’s intervention in crisis often results in promotion (Daniel 2:48-49).
e) Biblical Example: Mordecai and Esther – Mordecai’s guidance helped Esther intervene for the Jews in crisis (Esther 4:13-16).
4. OBEDIENCE AND HUMILITY ATTRACT DIVINE HELP
To receive divine help, we must walk in obedience and humility before God.
a) God Resists the Proud but Helps the Humble – Humility positions us for divine assistance (James 4:6).
b) Obedience to Divine Instructions Brings Deliverance – Following God’s lead secures victory (2 Kings 5:10-14).
c) Submission to God’s Will Opens Doors of Help – Daniel surrendered to God’s plan, and help came (Daniel 1:8-9).
d) Divine Help May Come Through Unusual Channels – God’s ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).
e) Biblical Example: Naaman and the Prophet Elisha – Naaman’s obedience to dip in the Jordan led to his healing (2 Kings 5:13-14).
5. GOD CAN MAKE YOU A HELPER TO OTHERS
Sometimes, God calls us to be the divine helpers in someone else’s crisis.
a) Blessed to Be a Blessing – God raises people to be channels of help (Genesis 12:2).
b) Sensitivity to the Needs of Others – We must be open to God’s leading (Philippians 2:4).
c) Spiritual Gifts are for Helping Others – God empowers believers to assist others (1 Corinthians 12:7).
d) God Rewards Those Who Help Others – What we do for others, God will do for us (Luke 6:38).
e) Biblical Example: The Good Samaritan – He became a divine helper to the wounded man (Luke 10:33-35).
CONCLUSION
Divine helpers are God’s instruments in times of crisis. Whether through friends, mentors, or even strangers, God raises people to provide wisdom, support, and solutions. Just as Daniel relied on his godly companions in a time of crisis, we must also trust God to connect us to the right people.
However, it is also important to be positioned for divine help through prayer, humility, and obedience. Additionally, we must be willing to be helpers to others in their times of need. May the Lord align us with the right people and make us vessels of divine help to those around us.
