INTRODUCTION
Life’s journey is filled with challenges, battles, and uncertainties, and no one can successfully navigate through it without divine assistance. Many have struggled in vain because they relied solely on human connections, intellect, or personal effort. However, true and lasting help comes from God, the Creator of heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1-2 reveals a fundamental truth: looking up to the hills represents looking beyond human limitations and placing full trust in God. Divine help is the supernatural intervention of God that lifts a person out of struggle and sets them in a place of favour, provision, and victory.
In this sermon, we will explore how to unlock the doors of divine help. God has made help available, but we must understand how to access it. When we engage the right spiritual principles, divine assistance will locate us, and we will walk in supernatural breakthroughs.
1. RECOGNISING GOD AS THE SOURCE OF HELP
The first step to unlocking divine help is acknowledging that only God can provide true and lasting assistance.
a) Human Help is Limited – Even the most powerful people on earth can fail, but God never fails (Jeremiah 17:5-6).
b) God is the Ever-Present Helper – He is always available to help those who call upon Him (Psalm 46:1).
c) Divine Help is Supernatural – It goes beyond human ability and brings results that man cannot achieve (Isaiah 41:10).
d) God’s Help is Unfailing – He will never abandon those who trust in Him (Deuteronomy 31:6).
e) Biblical Example: King Jehoshaphat – He acknowledged his helplessness and sought God’s help, leading to a miraculous victory (2 Chronicles 20:12-15).
2. ACCESSING DIVINE HELP THROUGH PRAYER AND FAITH
Prayer and faith are two keys that unlock divine help.
a) God Responds to the Cry of His People – When the Israelites cried out to God, He delivered them from Egypt (Exodus 3:7-8).
b) Faith Activates Divine Assistance – Without faith, it is impossible to receive help from God (Hebrews 11:6).
c) Persistent Prayer Opens the Heavens – The persistent widow in Luke 18:1-8 received her request because she did not give up.
d) Divine Help is Released When We Call Upon God – The blind Bartimaeus received his sight because he cried out to Jesus (Mark 10:46-52).
e) Biblical Example: Hannah – She prayed persistently, and God helped her by giving her a son, Samuel (1 Samuel 1:9-20).
3. WALKING IN OBEDIENCE TO ATTRACT GOD’S HELP
Obedience to God positions us for divine assistance.
a) God Helps Those Who Walk in His Ways – Righteousness and obedience bring divine favour (Isaiah 1:19).
b) Sin Can Block Divine Help – Disobedience and rebellion hinder God’s assistance (Deuteronomy 28:15-20).
c) Obedience Activates Angelic Help – When Daniel continued in righteousness, God sent an angel to shut the lions’ mouths (Daniel 6:22).
d) Following Divine Instructions Leads to Breakthrough – Peter obeyed Jesus and caught a great number of fish (Luke 5:4-7).
e) Biblical Example: The Widow of Zarephath – She obeyed Elijah’s instructions and never lacked food during the famine (1 Kings 17:8-16).
4. DIVINE HELP THROUGH DESTINY HELPERS
God often sends human vessels to assist His people.
a) God Uses People as Instruments of Help – The butler recommended Joseph to Pharaoh (Genesis 41:9-14).
b) Destiny Helpers Are Divinely Positioned – Ruth met Boaz at the right place and found favour (Ruth 2:8-10).
c) God Can Stir the Heart of Men to Favour You – King Ahasuerus granted Esther’s request for divine intervention (Esther 5:1-3).
d) Recognising and Honouring Destiny Helpers is Key – Elijah blessed the woman who honoured him with food (2 Kings 4:8-17).
e) Biblical Example: Naaman’s Servant Girl – She directed Naaman to Elisha, leading to his healing (2 Kings 5:1-14).
5. PRAISING GOD TO ACTIVATE DIVINE HELP
Praise is a powerful weapon that opens the heavens for divine intervention.
a) Praise Moves God to Act on Our Behalf – Paul and Silas praised God in prison, and the doors were supernaturally opened (Acts 16:25-26).
b) Thanksgiving Multiplies Divine Help – Jesus gave thanks, and five loaves of bread fed thousands (John 6:11-13).
c) Praise Silences the Enemy – When Jehoshaphat’s army sang praises, God fought their battle (2 Chronicles 20:21-22).
d) A Grateful Heart Attracts Continuous Help – The one leper who returned to thank Jesus received wholeness (Luke 17:15-19).
e) Biblical Example: King David – His lifestyle of praise ensured that God was always on his side (Psalm 34:1).
CONCLUSION
God is our ultimate helper, and He is always ready to intervene in our lives. However, to unlock the doors of divine help, we must acknowledge Him as our source, engage in persistent prayer, walk in obedience, connect with destiny helpers, and cultivate a lifestyle of praise. When these keys are in place, divine assistance will be inevitable.
As you put these principles into action, may the Lord arise on your behalf and send you supernatural help. Every closed door of assistance shall be opened, and you will walk in divine breakthroughs!
