Summary: As Christians, we are called to submit ourselves to Godly authority..

As Christians, we are called to submit ourselves to Godly authority, but not to ungodly influence. In fact, the Bible warns us against submitting ourselves to ungodly people, who may try to lead us astray from God's will.

The Importance of Godly Authority

The Bible teaches us to submit ourselves to Godly authority, such as our spiritual leaders, parents, and government officials. This submission is not blind obedience, but rather a recognition of the authority that God has established.

Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right._ (1 Peter 2:13-14)

However, Do Not Submit to Ungodly Influence

While we are called to submit ourselves to Godly authority, we are not to submit ourselves to ungodly influence. Ungodly people may try to lead us astray from God's will, and we must be careful not to give in to their influence.

Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?(2 Corinthians 6:14)

Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals." (1 Corinthians 15:33)

Characteristics of Ungodly People

So, how can we recognize ungodly people? Here are some characteristics to look out for:

1. They do not fear God: Ungodly people do not have a healthy fear of God, and they may even mock or ridicule those who do. (Psalm 36:1)

2. They are rebellious: Ungodly people are often rebellious and resistant to authority. (Romans 13:1-2)

3. They are self-centered: Ungodly people are often self-centered and focused on their own desires and interests. (2 Timothy 3:2-4)

4. They do not respect boundaries: Ungodly people may not respect boundaries or the rights of others. (Proverbs 25:17)

As Christians, we are called to submit ourselves to Godly authority, but not to ungodly influence. We must be careful not to give in to the influence of ungodly people, who may try to lead us astray from God's will. Instead, we must focus on building relationships with Godly people who will encourage and support us in our walk with God.
