THE MIND OF CHRIST
Philippians 2:5-7 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Jesus is our ever shining example in all things that partaineth to life and Godliness. As believers, Christ lived here on earth and died for our sins to leave us a perfect example in all situations and circumstances.
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus is simply saying that our lives must be patterned after that of our ever living example who is Jesus Christ.
Christ is our shinning example in holiness. The Word of God admonishes us to be holy Jesus as Jesus is holy.
1 Peter 1:16
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Christ is our shinning example concerning love for one another. He said in His Word
John 13:34
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
Infact, it is wwritten that one way to know that we are truly Christ disciples is if we have love for one another.
John 13:35
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Our Christ lived a life of Humility which he wants us to emulate hence the mind of Humility should be in every believer.
Philippians 2:7-8 says Christ made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Christ is our epitome of Obidience hence we must emulate Him.
John 4:34-35 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
Christ is our example in Selflessness. The Word of God admonishes us to be selfless even as Christ Jesus. The Bibke says
Philippians 2:3-4 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
In our daily work and walk to heaven, offenses must come but Jesus taught us forgiveness hence the mind of forgiveness should be in us.
Matthew 6:14-15 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Believers must always remember that they must never have a mind of their own as Christ has redeemed us from all forms of worldliness.
How then can anyone have thr mind of Christ? Just accept Christ invitation and accept him in your life.
Matthew 11:28 Christ says come unto me all ye that labour and heavy laden.
