2 Corinthians 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
Pray for the people and war against the demons behind the people motivating and even controlling them. We are human and sometimes it is hard to look past the human manifestation of the spiritual evil. Yet, we must remember that without Christ we were also evil people even after salvation if we do not walk in the Spirit, but rather the flesh we can still do evil things.
As Christ forgave us and forgives us we forgive the people for as Jesus said they not what they do for they know not that they are being manipulated by demonic influences because they are sinners by nature.
Spiritual weapons have far more effect then physical ones, if we have been trained how to use them and keep ourselves fit to use them. I can still fire an M-16, but my days of long marches or two-mile runs are over. Some of us were never trained how to use how spiritual weapons and some of us have not used then in so long as well as gotten so out of shape we can no longer use them.
We need the Spirit to put us through Boot Camp and a refresher Boot Camp for some. The War is won. We are just doing mop up skirmishes. We are called to be victorious.
Leviticus 26:7 And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
9 For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.
If the Lord did that for His people in earthly warfare, how much more has He promised us in spiritual warfare? We can take satanic strongholds and set the prisoners free. See not evil men as your enemies. They are prisoners of war that we are called to liberate. Rise up to your calling and be the warrior princes and princesses you are called to be. Tear down the walls and set the captives free as our Commander-in-Chief has given us orders.
Sound the battle cry! Jesus is Lord! Wave the banner of the Cross! Conquer by the Blood of the Lamb! Let His love and mercy triumph on earth has it has in Heaven! No more AWOL. No more R&R! No more goldbricking! No more entertaining church! To arms! Rescue the perishing! Care for the dying! Don't just hold the fort! Take ground! Advance!!! No more retreat! Send demons fleeing! We are infantry now, but we will be airborne cavalry when we return with Him!
Acts 13:1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
Many people these days get prophesies about how they will be great and have worldwide ministries, but they are not serving where they are. Note that Paul, who was called and commissioned by Jesus was fully engaged in ministry in Antioch before the Spirit called he and Barnabas to their missionary journey together. They were not sitting on a pew doing nothing or running around trying to find their awesome ministry. They served where they were and when God was ready they were called somewhere else.
Not everyone gets called somewhere else or there would be no Christians in some places at some point. Paul told people in 1 Cor 7 to stay where you are and be who you are.
Mark 9:33 And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?
34 But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.
35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
Indeed, it would appear that many Christians need to be reminded that the way up is down in the Kingdom. Jesus also said to take the lowest seats at a banquet, not connive to be at the main table.
Someone said that some sects of Christianity are creating Narcissist Christianity and a kind of elite one. Indeed, it would seem that some of the same carnality that was exhibited in the Corinthian church is prevalent in the modern Western Church.
I know a pastor that asks a potential staff member questions like "If I told you to go unclog the toilet in the ladies' room, how would feel about that?" If they indicate a disdain or openly say something like that's not place they are not going to be selected. I would feel the same way. When I was Associate Pastor at a church of around 450 on the rolls both the Pastor's family and Karen and I took our turns at cleaning the church. There are no elites in the Kingdom, only servants though we be children of the King.
Luke 16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?
I am going to make an application here. If you cannot be faithful in some sort of small service, how will you be faithful in a greater place of service? If you cannot serve in your church, which in a way, is another man's work why do you think God should give you some great ministry?
Do not give a great deal of credence to prophecies of greatness as that prophet may be speaking from their heart and not from God and it may be only appealing to your own desire for greatness, especially if you are not serving where you are or murmur about why you have not be promoted already to your destiny.
Indeed, you real call may be to be a Private or Sergeant, not a General. Be busy and faithful where you are and if needed God may call you to a leadership position or leave you as a front line soldier where you are. In my day, they said to not get too big for your britches and many are in some tight britches. Do not be one of them. Maranatha!
