Summary: This is the 4th Sermon in the Series "Taking Off The Mask".

Series: Taking Off The Mask [#4]

WHY I DON’T LIKE A LOT OF CHRISTIANS

1 Peter 1:14-16

Introduction:

You are not going to believe this, but I don’t like a lot of Christians that I meet. Why?

Christians can be…

* Judgmental.

* Weird.

* Hypocritical.

It is easy for us to forget the main point of why we come to Church, why we serve in the Church, and most of all Who we serve and why we serve Him.

1 Peter 1:14-16

We forget the main point…

1. About ourselves.

To be holy means to be set apart; to be different. God said we are supposed to be different from the world, from the non-Christians. Are we?

It is hard for us to believe that we are no different than lost people, but it is true. In fact, some of you are thinking about other Christians that are messing up and haven’t even considered the fact that you may be doing as bad; or worse than they are.

* We tend to accuse others and excuse ourselves.

Philippians 2:3-4

We forget the main point…

2. About others.

* We judge rather than love.

* We shoot our wounded.

* We stop caring.

We forget the main point…

3. About church.

After Peter’s confession of Jesus being the Christ, Jesus said this about Himself…

Matthew 16:18

* The Church loses touch with the world.

* Some Christians think they can make it without Church.

* The people start thinking the Church is here for us.

Conclusion:

What does God want to do in you?
