Summary: This is the 2nd Sermon in the Series "Taking Off The Mask".

Series: Taking Off The Mask [#2]

I AM INADEQUATE

Isaiah 6:5

Introduction:

Last week I shared with you that I am taking off the mask; that I’m no longer trying to uphold some sort of image. Last week we looked at the fact that sometimes I don’t feel like praying. This week I want to tell you that I am inadequate to serve as a pastor. I can tell you all of the reasons why I shouldn’t be a pastor. In fact, I have written a resume in how to fail.

Resume for failure:

* I do not know enough.

* I am not good enough.

* I have made too many mistakes.

Isaiah 6:5, 8

You are a candidate for God to use if…

1. You have messed up big.

* Moses murdered a man.

* Abraham was a liar.

* Jacob was a cheater.

* Rahab was prostitute.

* David committed adultery.

* Paul murdered Christians.

Exodus 4:10-12

You are a candidate for God to use if…

2. You are unsure of yourself.

God doesn’t choose the prepared, He prepares the chosen.

1 Samuel 16:7

Acts 4:13

You are a candidate for God to use if…

3. Others think you are not.

Conclusion:

What is God calling you to do?
