Summary: God has the ability to wash all our sins away, but it is only by the blood of Jesus.

The church at Corinth had fallen into a terrible condition of contention, complacency, carelessness and carnality. Paul comes to remind them of two things, sends that would keep people out of heaven and their relationship with God. The only way to get to heaven is to be washed in the blood. Washed means cleansed. Some of them were, but not all. Things made clean are changed. Things that have changed are different.

I. Life Wasted

1. Lives that have not been washed in the blood.

2. Romans 3:10-12; Isaiah 64:6

3. Fornicator, immoral sexual acts of the unmarried.

4. Idolater, worshipper of an image or object. Not God.

5. Adulterer, immoral sexual acts of the unmarried.

6. Effeminate, man making himself to appear female in appearance.

7. Abusers, deceive, impose on, pervert, molest, and misuse.

8. Thieves, one who steals things that do not belong to him. Could even be time on the job.

9. Covetous, desire or crave things of others.

10. Drunkard, one who habitually drinks alcoholic beverages.

11. Revilers, scandalous language, abusive speech, insulting language.

12. Extortioner, obtain by violence, threats. Taking money under the color of office, bribery, giving bribes.

13. Prodigal Son

a. Wasted his substance.

II. Sinners Wanted by God

1. Grace

2. Social outcasts feel unwanted and unloved.

3. Orphans, broken homes, God is different. He is compassionate.

4. He wants to make us what he wanted us to be all the time.

6. Heaven will be populated with sinners who have been washed in the blood.

III. Warned by God’s Word

1. John 12:48

IV. Washed in Jesus’ Blood.

1. Isaiah 1:18

2. Only God can cleanse, Psalm 51:2

3. Self-cleansing is impossible, Job 9:30.

4. A heavenly scene, Revelation 7:14, 6:9

5. Souls confessing sin, and faith in Jesus’ blood.

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power, are you washed in the blood of the lamb.
