In Ezekiel's vision, God is described as sitting on a throne placed on a chariot of living creatures(with wheels). Each living creature travels faster than the speed of light in the direction that God desires. The chariot's wheels or the living creatures never intersect each other. The vision elaborates on the details of the living creatures and wheels, describing their appearance, speed, and abilities.
The creatures did not turn when they went, but each one went straight forward. When they moved, they went toward any one of four directions; they did not turn aside when they went. As for their rims, they were so high they were awesome; and their rims were full of eyes, all around the four of them. Ezekiel 1:17 &18
As they move, the wings of the living creatures produce a noise resembling the noise of many waters, the voice of the almighty God, and the sound of a great army. They travel between dimensions (known and unknown), space, galaxies, from heaven to earth and vice versa, with a portion of the wheel touching the earth. The movement of these live creatures cannot be fully seen with the human eye. Physical eyes may detect sparks or flashes of lightning when the living creatures move.
God, seated on the throne, controls the chariot and each wheel(living creature with wheel). God’s chariot is a four-wheel drive, where each wheel can travel in its own direction at supersonic speeds, with God as the driver. God uses this chariot to carry out His plans. We fit into or are part of God's plans.
When the wheels of God's chariot are moving at such high speeds to fulfil his plans( in your life), why do we think or believe that nothing is happening in your life? Just because we don't see anything(happening on the outside), we assume that God has stopped working (his plans) in our lives. The wheels are moving so quickly to carry out God's plans, why do you think you are stuck? For completing God's plan or purpose, the wheels of God are moving (or working) at a very high speed with God directing or orchestrating the chariot. The wheels operate more in the background than in the foreground. God is orchestrates both the chariot and the wheels. Each wheel has a unique role (to play in God’s plan) and moves in a separate direction at high speeds.
Most of the time, we cannot see or understand how God fulfils or implements His plans; they appear so complex and difficult because God fulfils his plans through this chariot of wheels(living creatures) and these wheels move faster than the speed of light. Understanding how God fulfils or implements His plans is like seeing the movement of wheels which are travelling at very high speeds. Seeing the movement of wheels with physical eye is almost impossible so as understanding the details of how God implements his plan is also almost impossible. You might not be able to perceive or comprehend the way how God carries out his plans since the chariot has wheels moving in entirely different directions, each at its own speed and without interacting with each other. However, you can see God on his throne, even though you can't see the implementation details or specifics of his plan (though sometimes he provides glimpses of it).
Concentrate on seeing God on his throne rather than understanding the details of how God implements his plan. Your heart will be at peace and rest when we see God on the throne rather than trying to figure out how God implements his plan. Even if it appears like that you are stuck and nothing is happening on the outside for many days or months or years, God(with his living creatures) is mightily working behind the scenes (in the background) to fulfil his plans and purposes in your life. His chariot wheels are never stationary; they are always in motion, moving and moving at great speeds. God orchestrates and works on your behalf to carry out his plans. God's wheels are always in motion in your life, whether you realise it or not.
Don't become depressed and frustrated just because you can't see anything happening outside or understand God’s plans; instead, ask God to sustain you, and you will witness the wonderful future that God has in store for you. God's chariot is never motionless or stationary; but it is always moving to carry out His plans in your life.
But you concentrate on seeing God on the throne. Ezekiel's vision contains so many minute details concerning wheels and living creatures because they are very essential or needed to understanding how God implements his plans. Every description about the wheel and living creatures is important in understanding how God carries out his purpose.
The living creatures have so many eyes, high and awesome, and their speed is incredible because they reflect God's tremendous sovereignty, planning, and authority in carrying out his plan. The living creatures went straight forward, implying that nothing could stop them. They did not turn aside or back, indicating that there is no deviation in God's plan (once God has decided it). There is no darkness that can obstruct them, and they themselves are the source of light. Perhaps Satan also cannot detect the movement of God’s chariot.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
Isaiah 55:8-9 talks about God’s great plans, and Ezekiel 1 talks about how God is going to implement His great plans in your life. God’s plans and thoughts are always lofty and great, how He carries them out is also lofty and great. Although we may not fully understand the complexity and implementation details of God's plan, we can take comfort in the knowledge that God is orchestrating everything for our good. Instead of focusing on the intricate details of how God's plan unfolds, we should trust in His sovereignty and find peace in knowing that He is always working on our behalf. God has great plans for your life, and He uses his chariot to carry them out. Never be discouraged looking at the external situations even if nothing is happening on the outside.
