TEXT: John 12:14
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it."
THE EXALTED NAME
Jesus was having a heart to heart session with his disciples before his crucification and assured them that whatever they asked in his name, he will do it for them. The name of Jesus is a powerful weapon in the life of every believer. Philippians 2:9-11 affirms this. The name of Jesus is exalted above every other name on earth, in heaven and in hell. When you call the name of Jesus, every knee bows and every tongue confesses Jesus as Lord. As you call the name of Jesus today every contrary situation in your life and family shall bow before you in Jesus name.
THE NAME THAT SAVES
It is only the name of Jesus that can guarantee the salvation of man. "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). The name of Jesus is the most powerful name on earth, heaven and hell. It is the passport, visa and ticket that grants eternal residence in paradise. John 1:22 says, "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." If you accept Jesus and believe in his name, you receive power and the right to be a member of God's family. If you don't, hell awaits you. What a powerful name.
THE NAME THAT BRINGS GLORY TO GOD
When Peter and Paul encountered a man born lame at the beautiful gate in Jerusalem, they had no money to give to the beggar but they had something more powerful and glorious than money - the name of Jesus. Peter looked intently at him and declared: “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” The invalid man got up and started walking, running, leaping and praising God (Acts 3:4-6). Everybody that witnessed the miracle praised God. The reason why God exalted the name of Jesus above all else is to bring glory to him. When believers call the name of Jesus and miracles, signs and wonders take place, it glorifies the Father. The ultimate glory belongs to God. The name of God will be glorified in your life in Jesus name.
THE MOST POWERFUL NAME IN THE UNIVERSE
As a believer, the name of Jesus is given to you to pull down the kingdom of darkness. When the church gathers together in one accord in the name of Jesus, whatever we bind or loose on earth is bound and loosed in heaven, and whatever the church agrees as one to ask from God, he will do (Matt 18:18-20). The powers of darkness tremble and submit to the name of Jesus (Col 1:16, James 2:19). The name of Jesus saves, heals, delivers, empowers, conquers, etc; it is the most powerful name known to mankind and the spiritual realm. Therefore, the church is the most powerful institution on earth, if it unites in agreement. We are the church. The power is available if we work together in unity and love in the name of our Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ.
PRAYER:
Father, bind your church together with the cord of love and unity in Jesus name.

The name of Jesus is above all other names.
