And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever. Revelation 5:14
True worship is not just about singing songs, but it's about seeing the face of God. Do the songs we sing help us to see the face of God? Do the songs we sing completely describe God and His Holiness? Is there a desire to see God while singing these songs? Every day or moment in heaven, the angels and 24 elders sing a new song because they see something new or a new facet of God. They were marvelled by these facets of God and they sing them as a new song. The adoration, admiration or worship came as a result of discovering and knowing a fresh or new facet of God.
This new or fresh facet (or revelation) of God, whether new or old, is brought to life by our worship and praise. Our praises are born by seeing a new facet of God, which is described as a song. The understanding and comprehension of God, rather than the music or melody of the song, is what makes the song beautiful. We could worship along with angels if we could see God the way they(angels) do every day. There is always something marvellous about Jesus, but are our eyes opened to see it?
True worship is discovering new aspects of God that lead to adoration, admiration and praise. God dwells in this worship because it describes only about him. Worship is a daily journey to see God's face. The more we see the face of God, the more we can adore and worship Him. As worshippers, we should develop a desire to see the face of God and pray for a fresh revelation of Jesus every day. If we receive a fresh revelation of Jesus each day, we will be able to sing a new song of praise and worship to Jesus every day. There is so much to know and discover about God that it would take an eternity to completely know Him.
If we receive a fresh revelation of Jesus every day, we shall be singing a new song every day until we complete our earthly trip to eternity. If we see God's face every day, worship comes spontaneously and automatically, and we would sing a new song each day. As a result, each worshipper may easily have sung or written at least 1000 songs in his or her lifetime. The angels and 24 elders saw God all the time, so they worshipped him forever and ever. If we see God continuously, our worship also will last forever and ever. Ask God to help you see Jesus always so that you can worship him forever and ever.
Our worship becomes boring and uninteresting when we don't have a desire to see God’s face. Our worship ends after a while because there is no constant longing to see God's face until we see him fully. Seeing the face of the one (God) who has not yet been fully seen by human eyes is the journey of a worshipper. Start on this journey and let this journey guide you on the green pasture beside the living waters till eternity.
