You who once walked in the light of His love and grace have turned aside to chase after the pleasures of this world.
The Bible warns us of this very thing in 2 Timothy 4:3-4, "For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."
But let me remind you, dear friends, that our Lord is a God of steadfast love and mercy. He calls to us still, saying, "Return to me, and I will return to you" (Malachi 3:7).
Let us repent of our waywardness and return to the narrow path of discipleship. Let us seek to live according to the wisdom of Psalm 16:8, "I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken."
"Let us not be like the seed that fell among thorns, choked by the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of wealth (Matthew 13:22). Instead, let us be like the seed that fell on good soil, bearing fruit a hundredfold (Matthew 13:23).
Remember the words of our Lord Jesus, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me" (Luke 9:23). Let us crucify our fleshly desires and walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:24).
Let us not be deceived by the false prophets of our time, who promise prosperity and ease but lead us astray from the truth (2 Peter 2:1-3). Instead, let us hold fast to the Word of God, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105).
May we be faithful followers of Jesus, enduring to the end and receiving the crown of life (James 1:12). May our hearts be pure and our motives be pure, seeking only to glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
