Psalm 99 The Lord, he is the God; (1Kings 18)
1. The Lord's Reign - 1 The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble:
he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.
The Fact of His Reign - 1 The Lord reigneth;
The Fear at His Reign - let the people tremble:
The Fulfillment of His Reign - he sitteth between the cherubims;
The Force of His Reign - let the earth be moved.
The Favour of His Reign - 2 The Lord is great in Zion;
The Focus of His Reign - and he is high above all the people.
The Fullness of His Reign - 3 Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.
The Call to Praise - 3 Let them praise
The Cause for Praise - thy great and terrible name;
The Care in Praise - for it is holy.
2. The Lord's Righteousness
Our Welfare - 4 The king’s strength also loveth judgment;
He Extols Justice - 4 The king’s strength also loveth judgment;
He Extends Justice - thou dost establish equity,
He Extracts Justice - thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob
He Exudes Justice - 5 Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.
Our Welcome - 5 Exalt ye the Lord our God,
Our Worship - and worship at his footstool;
Our Wonder - for he is holy.
3. The Lord's Requirement
Our Company - 6 Moses and Aaron among his priests,
and Samuel among them that call upon his name;
Our Communion - they called upon the Lord, and he answered them.
Our Compliance - 7 He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies,
and the ordinance that he gave them.
Our Completion
His Favour - 8 Thou answeredst them, O Lord our God:
His Forgiveness - thou wast a God that forgavest them,
His Faithfulness - though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.
4. The Lord's Request - To -
Receive His Person - 9 Exalt the Lord
Recognize His Position - 9 Exalt the Lord our God,
Respect His Place - and worship at his holy hill;
Reflect His Purity - for the Lord our God is holy.
