Summary: THE PRACTICE OF PRAYER

Psalm 65 THE PRACTICE OF PRAYER

1. A Personal Practice (v 1-4)

It's Praise - 1 Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion:

It's Price - 1 and unto thee shall the vow be performed.

It's Profit - 2 O thou that hearest prayer,

It's Preeminence - 2 unto thee shall all flesh come.

It's Pressure - 3 Iniquities prevail against me:

It's Pardon - as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.

It's Promise - 4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest,

It's Privilige - and causest to approach unto thee,

It's Presence - that he may dwell in thy courts:

It's Pleasure - we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house,

It's Provision - even of thy holy temple.

2. A Powerful Practice (v 5-8)

His Answer -

5 By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:

His Authority - 6 which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:

His Action - 7 which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.

His Acclaim - 8 They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens:

thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.

3. A Prudential Practice (v 9-13) God is the Source of -

He Provides The Water - 9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it:

He Provides The Wheat -9 thou preparest them corn,
