1) Repent of our low view of God – God is High and lofty, yet we have brought him to our human or low view by using our human knowledge, wisdom and understanding to know God. When we use human wisdom or knowledge to understand, see, and know God without the help of Holy Spirit, we see a low view of God. A low view of God is very dangerous and this can be clearly seen by our lack of fear of God and reverence for God. A low view of God can be clearly seen in our prayers. We always expect God to do something more and we don’t revere or respect God for who He is and what He has already done on the Cross. A person who is on a journey to know the lofty God, His joy and praise will be raise up looking at the finished work of the Cross and is not dependent on worldly blessings or favours. Eternity and Eternal blessing will get hold of a person who is on journey to know a high and lofty God.
2) Repent of any prayers we have prayed that are not in God’s will – Prayers that we have prayed which are not in God’s will hurt God. When we pray prayers which are not in God’s will, we are forcibly asking God to do something He does not want to do. Many people are praying prayers that are not in God’s will by which they enter into seasons of spiritual dryness. When we pray something that is not in God’s will for years, we are indirectly expanding Satan’s empire.
3) Repent of mere words – Words that do not originate from the heart. Words that come from our tongue but do not come from our hearts are mere words. Let our words be reflection of our heart. Allow our words to reflect our hearts. Even while talking, whether pleasant or terrible words, let our words come from the heart. There should be no dual words – one that the heart thinks and one that comes out of the mouth. Let no words to impress come out of the tongue to impress people while the heart thinks otherwise. Let your mouth and heart be always in sync and speak the same word.
4) Repent for our lack of meditation on God – Most Christians don’t understand the difference between prayer and meditation. Praying for prayer requests is not meditation; but spending time to learn and know more about God and contemplating His attributes such as mercy and goodness is meditation. May my meditation be sweet to you, says the psalmist. He’s already one step ahead – He prays and meditates and then asks God if His meditation is pleasing or sweet to him. Have we ever considered or thought whether our prayers or meditations are pleasing or sweet to him?
5) Repent of our lack of spiritual sensitivity to God’s word and situations around us – We claim to be spirit-filled people, but we lack spiritual sensitivity to God’s word. Our hearts have become like stones and do not respond to God’s word, when we read or hear God’s word. Our hearts are not sensitive to our own sins and sins of others.
6) Repent of losing our Childlike innocence to quickly repent and believe in God’s word – Many Christians have lost their Childlike innocence during the course of their Christian lives. They gained a lot of doctrinal knowledge over the years, but they lost their child like innocence to quickly repent, forgive others, believe God and His word.
7) Repent of our doubts in believing God’s promises and word – So many times, despite God speaking directly to us through His word or His Spirit or His voice, or a dream or vision, we still have doubted God’s promises and word. Rather than taking a leap of faith, we have doubted God’s promise or purpose.
8) Repent of missing God’s seasons – Many Christians have missed God’s timing or seasons in their lives due to ignorance or negligence in perceiving God’s season. They have not aligned themselves in accordance with God’s seasons. Most of the time, they were completely unaware about God’s present season. They don’t realign themselves when God’s seasons change. They always pray the same prayers every season. Each season has its own set of God-directed prayers and provisions. God works according to His divine seasons. We must align ourselves with the divine seasons of God.
9) Repent of hindering your spiritual walk when there are no external physical blessings – Many Christians have linked their spiritual walk with external blessings. When they do not see external blessings, they themselves have stopped or hindered their spiritual walk with God. Don’t mix your spiritual walk with external physical blessings. God has promised us divine blessings, which may or may not manifest in external blessings. Don’t measure your spiritual walk with God based on your external blessings.
10) Repent of our lack of desire to see God’s face – Many times we want to see God’s blessings, favour, anointing, and power, but we don’t have a desire to see God’s face. There is no desire or longing to see God’s face. We want to see God’s works more than God’s face. We need to repent of our desire to see anything more than God’s face.
11) Repent of failing to see Jesus in God’s presence or during an encounter- Sometimes in God’s presence, we are so distracted by supernatural activity, angels, and gold dust that we fail to look for or see Jesus. In God’s presence or encounter, though you may see so many supernatural things, but if you don’t see Jesus, it’s not worth it. All supernatural activity and angels are so pale in comparison to seeing and speaking with Jesus. Jesus overshines all supernatural activity and angels. He is far more brighter than millions of angels put together. One glimpse of him can change your life forever.
12) Repent of neglecting God’s presence – When God’s presence moves over our life, we sometimes become negligent in seeking an encounter with God or seeing His face. We want God to move over our life based on our times and situations. We cannot manufacture God’s presence, but when it is moving, we must respect it and seek an experience with God.
13) Repent of over emphasizing a preacher or supernatural activity over Jesus.
14) Repent of our lack of praise and adoration to Jesus– God is already High and Lofty. Jesus has already done so much for us on the Cross that He does not require to do anything additionally good to deserve our praise and worship. Jesus deserves our praise and worship, and we owe him our praise and worship till eternity. Even if we continue to worship and praise Jesus continuously for the next 10,000 years, our praise and worship will still fall short of what He deserves because of the Cross.
15) Repent of our lack of desire to spend eternity with God– God created us to live eternity with Him. Everything he did and all of his blessings are in the perspective of eternity because He wants to prepare us to spend eternity with him. His covenant is everlasting, His mercy is infinite, and all of His dealings and blessings with humanity are eternal and everlasting. To lasting humanity, God bestowed everlasting blessings so that they will live eternity with God.
16) Repent of stealing God’s glory and selling doves in church – We should not sell the work of the Holy Spirit, i.e. His gifts and secrets, for money. The work of the Holy Spirit is a pure act of God that humans cannot earn or manufacture it. When we try to make or earn money by displaying the work of the Holy Spirit, God sees us as money changers and will overthrow our tables.
17) Repent of not saying Jesus’ name every day.
18) Repent of not seeing Jesus’ face on a daily basis.
19) Repent of excluding Jesus from our daily actions and decisions.
20) Repent of our inability to submit to God’s will.
21) Repent of our wilful disobedience to the Holy Spirit.
22) Repent of not accepting the correction of the Holy Spirit.
