Black sheep
Joshua 7:12'. I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction."
Friend, now listen to me, there are many out there, when they go through persecutions and problems, blame God and others and sulk, instead of searching themselves for any hidden sins, disobedience or anything else displeasing God.
Chapter 7 follows after the great victory in Jericho where God delivers the people by just obediently walking around the walls of Jericho 7 times. They saw the walls come tumbling down at the blowing of the trumpet. What a moment! But one man in the midst of such awesomeness SAW a beautiful shawl among the plunder in Babylonia. His name was Achan , the man who was responsible for the death of 36 soldiers in the city of Ai. God said "you are defeated because of sin in your midst!". Anybody listening today????
Despite tasting the goodness of God, such proud and hardhearted people refuse to repent and acknowledge their sins of disobedience. After a long search and waste of time, Achan accepted his sins.
There are people who drop into church once a month or may be once a year and still they expect God to abundantly shower His blessings on them, if not, they sulk and complain. Joining believers in midweek fellowship, attending Bible study and volunteering in church activities are all expected from God; however, Christians do none of these and yet blame God.
?The Babylonian shawl in your life can be anger, bitterness, un forgiveness and quarrels that is blocking your blessings. Identify the black sheep that is hindering your blessings!
? Is there any financial fraud or flaw in your life? Dont over look, rectify to please God.
?Remove illegal relationships, addictions
? set right your documents
God says, ‘whatever is devoted for destruction destroy it, don’t keep it with you’, this is the core message of today’s devotion. It can be a toxic friend too, remove him, God will not be in our midst if there are hidden sins in our life.
1 John 1:9 NIV
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
