38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all who are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
INTRO:
1. Peter preached about Repentance.
There are those in this day that preach that repentance of sin is not necessary or needed. Do not follow this false doctrine! Jesus preached repentance as well. If you are going to have Christ, you must repent and turn away from sin. Have you repented of your sins?
2. Peter preached about Rebirth
When Peter said to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, he was not referring to water baptism. If someone tells you that all you have to do to be saved is to decide to do better and get baptized in water, don’t you dare believe it! Water does nothing for the soul. If that were true we would get saved every time we took a shower. What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Peter was referring to being washed (baptized) in the blood of Jesus. That’s the only way to be born again. That is the only way to have the remission of sins. Have you been reborn?
3. Peter preached about Remission
Remission is what happens when you are born again. Remission is the cancellation of a debt, charge, or penalty. Are you getting it yet? Let me put it this way. The wages of sin is death. I had sin in my heart and soul. That sin in my heart and soul had a debt attached to it - death. When Jesus saved my soul he canceled the debt of sin. He canceled the charges of sin! He canceled the penalty of sin! Has the debt, the charges, and the penalty of sin been canceled for you through the blood of Jesus?
4. Peter preached about Receiving
Peter said if you repent, get reborn, and get remission of sin, you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost! The only way to receive the Holy Ghost is to repent, get reborn, and get remission of sin. You receive it by default. Peter said ye SHALL receive. It is impossible to repent, get reborn, and get remission of sins and NOT receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. If the Holy Ghost doesn’t live in you then you are not saved! There’s no way you are saved and the Holy Ghost not live in you. Does the Holy Ghost live in you? If so, you have been saved! That’s the greatest evidence of being saved is the presence of the Holy Ghost!
5. Peter preached about Reach
Peter said this promise concerning repentance, rebirth, remission, and receiving can and will reach not just you, but also your children and those afar off and as many as the Lord calls! Do you know how many the Lord calls? However many “whosoevers” there are in the world! Why am I still preaching this old old story and message about repentance, rebirth, remission, and receiving the Holy Ghost? That’s because your children and those that are afar off and all the whosoevers can hear it and be reached for the cause of Christ!! Somebody the Lord called, preached it or was a witness to you if you are saved, and this promise reached you! How many can say, God’s gospel promise reached me?
That’s what my text says today. And I want you to know I have experienced all of the Gospel’s promises from God and I got saved by the grace of God. What I want to know and hear from you is do you have what I have? If you have what I have then you have the same Bible Jesus, the same Bible Holy Ghost, and the same Bible salvation that I have. If you have what I have, then you will desire all things that are of God and desire to reject all things that are not of God. Do you have what I have?
Let me tell you what I have since I’ve been saved.
I. I HAVE CHRIST AS MY SAVIOR
**He lives in me!
** He is the Savior that . . .
A. Redeemed Me
1. I’m Redeemed by a Divine Lord!
a. The Divine Lord and only Savior
b. The Divine Lord and only Son
c. The Divine Lord and only Spirit
2. I’m Redeemed by a Divine Love!
a. God is in my life because of Divine Love!
b. Grace is in my life because of Divine Love!
**It is easy to stay close to Christ when you remember
what the Lord saved you from and how He redeemed you!
B. Rewards Me
1. He rewards me with Benefits!
**Revival Benefits, Remarkable Benefits, Retirement Benefits – What a retirement plan He has!!
2. He rewards me with Blessings!
**I cannot count my blessings because
there are too many blessings for me to count!!

1. He remembers me when I’m weary!
2. He remembers me when I’m worried!
3. He remembers me when I’m worshipping!
4. He remembers me when I’m working!
**Christ is the one that Redeemed
you, Rewards you, and He will Remember you
if you have what I have.
II. I HAVE CHRIST AS MY STRENGTH
**We need to remember we need the Lord’s strength, and
we need to remember to seek for the Lord’s strength.
Psalms 105:4 Seek the Lord and his strength:
A. He gives me the Strength of His Charity
The Lord’s strength is supplied by the mighty strength of His love! There’s nothing you won’t do for those you love! God so loved the whole world and His strength is in that love.
Psalms 28:7-8 7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. 8 The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
**The strength of the Lord’s love is what makes Him Lord! We
need His strength!
1. The Strength of the Lord does not Change! Malachi 3:6 He said, “I change not.”
2. The Strength of the Lord does not Cave!
**When things get rough He does not cave! When things
get tough, He does not cave!
B. He gives me the Strength of His Covenant
1. The Blood of the Covenant gives me strength.
2. The Bond of the Covenant gives me strength.
3. The Book of the Covenant gives me strength.
**When folks depart from the faith they depart from
Christ, from Church, from Christianity, and from the
Covenant. They are forsaking the blood, the bond, and the
book of the covenant that gives them strength to overcome
the world! Your life will get all messed up too!
**I sure do need that covenant in my life! It’s my
strength!
C. He gives me the Strength of His Convictions
**Convictions means beliefs.
1. His convictions keep me Right!
2. His convictions keep me Real!
3. His convictions keep me Ready!
**Christ’s Charity, Christ’s Covenant, and Christ’s
Convictions are our strength to be Christians! Do you have the strength of the Lord like I have it?
III. I HAVE CHRIST AS MY SECURITY
** I need . . .
A. The Security of His Protection
Psalms 105:39 39 He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.
** Christ is my protection from . . .
1. The World
2. The Wicked
3. The Wavering
**We all need the Lord’s protection from these things!
B. The Security of His Provisions
Psalms 105 40-41 40 The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
41 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.
1. He will provide you the Food.
2. He will provide you the Finances.
3. He will provide you with Favor.
4. He will provide you with Fuel.
**Don’t you dare let anyone tell you that God cannot supply your needs!
C. The Security of His Promises
Psalms 105:42 42 For he remembered his holy promise
1. There’s Help in His Promises
2. There’s Hope in His Promises
3. There’s Honesty in His Promises
4. There’s Heart in His Promises
**Because I am saved I have His protection, His provisions, and His promises! Do you have what I have?
IV. I HAVE CHRIST AS MY SATISFACTION
**Have you ever been in a place in life where you could not
get satisfied?
** Satan never can Satisfy you!
** Sin never can Satisfy you!
** Stuff never can Satisfy you!
**Christ can always satisfy you!
A. Jesus Satisfies My Heart
1. When your Heart is Unsettled – He can Satisfy it!
2. When your Heart is Unsaved – He can Satisfy it!
3. When your Heart is Un-nerved – He can satisfy it!
Psalms 105:43 43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
**Thank God He satisfies our heart with joy and gladness!!
B. Jesus Satisfies My Hope
1. My hope is in a Lord!
2. My hope is in a Land!
**I don’t own much land here, but I’ve got a lot of glorious
land over there; it’s heavenly land!
3. My hope is in a Love!
Song: I love you! I love you! That’s what Calvary said.
I love you! I love you! I love you written in red.
C. Jesus Satisfies My Home
1. A home is not safe without Jesus!
2. A home is not sweet without Jesus!
3. A home is not Spirit-filled without Jesus!
**Do you have what I have? If you do, you have a satisfied soul because you know the Jesus of the Bible lives in your soul.
CLOSE
I don’t want anybody to leave here today without this Jesus that I have. The problem is I can’t tell you when to come and get it. Only the Holy Ghost can tell you when to come get it. The other problem is I can’t even give it to you. Only Jesus can give it to you. What I can tell you is if you are under Holy Ghost conviction and if you ask for this salvation to come into your heart and repent of your sins and believe Jesus Christ died and rose again and trust Jesus to be your Savior then you will get what I have.
