I want to talk to you about the importance of being mindful of the company we keep and the influence others can have on our lives. The Bible warns us about the danger of being influenced by bad people, and how it can lead us down a path of destruction.
In 1 Corinthians 15:33, it says "Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character."" This verse highlights the impact that negative influences can have on our lives. When we surround ourselves with people who do not share our values and beliefs, we risk being pulled away from our faith and our relationship with God.
The Bible warns us about the danger of associating with those who do not have our best interests at heart, and who may lead us down a path of destruction.
In Psalm 1:1, it says "Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers." This verse highlights the importance of avoiding those who would lead us astray and influence us to sin.
As Christians, we are called to be set apart, to be a light in the darkness. We cannot do this if we are surrounded by people who are evil and who will encourage us to do wrong. It is important to be discerning about the company we keep and to avoid those who would seek to harm us or lead us away from our faith.
In 2 Corinthians 6:14, it says "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?" This verse reminds us that we are not to partner with or associate with those who do not share our beliefs and values.
Let us commit to staying away from evil people and instead surround ourselves with fellow believers who will encourage and support us in our walk with God.
It is vital to be discerning about the company we keep and to choose friends and associates who will encourage and support us in our walk with God.
Let us commit to being mindful of the influence others have on our lives and to surround ourselves with people who will build us up in our faith, not tear us down. May we be a blessing to those around us and a shining example of the love and grace of Jesus Christ. Amen.
