Soul Insurance?
• One of the most important decisions a person or a family can make is the selection of a good life insurance policy.
• Life insurance is an essential part of any financial plan because it safeguards a family’s security in the event of the death of the person who provides the income by which that family is supported.
Life insurance is also important because it is one way by which the present generation can pass wealth on to the next generation.

• You can always lose things that are valuable to you, and money may not be enough to get them back. That’s why all of us worry about loss—whether we have insurance or not.
You can buy insurance for almost anything, from your car to your health to your beard.
But there’s a problem with even the best insurance plans: they can only offer money if you lose something.
So, whether we have insurance or not, we’re all at least a little afraid of giving up the things we value most.
Do you have a spiritual insurance policy with God?
Do you know the policy details: terms, conditions, your obligations and rights?
God’s insurance
God our insurance broker and provider, is also the underwriter of our destiny.
The insurance policy He offers is immutable, perpetually unchanging..
Nothing is subject to change without prior notification.
Declarations of your spiritual insurance are straightforward, unambiguous, and understandable.
Unlike worldly insurance policies all exclusions, endorsements, and policy-riders are entirely in the Christian’s favour.
What God’s insurance policy says
Believe God and you will have life. John 3.16-18.
The final destination for our soul, whether it is heaven or hell, is determined by our choice.
Yes, we get to determine where our soul would live in eternity.
We have complete freedom to decide.
What a great privilege we have to decide our eternity.
While we have the habit of insuring everything on earth, don’t we need insurance to make sure our souls end up in heaven and not in hell?
Bible says, What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
Why the Bible puts such high importance to Soul.
? Because the eternal life of our soul is much longer than the finite lifetime on earth.
? We might win everything and achieve our heart's desire on earth during our finite time on earth, but if we miss the bus to heaven, then our soul’s eternal life needs to be spent in hell, which is the only alternative choice.
? Hence, we must decide our eternity by insuring our soul.
God offers a full and guaranteed solution to the eternal life of your soul.
? Bible says, Who ever believe in Him (Jesus) will have eternal life.
? The only criterion to go to heaven is believing in Christ.
? You don’t have to pay anything.
? All you have to do is to put your belief or trust in God
The temporary problems on earth are less important compared to permanent happiness in heaven.
? Bible says, No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.
? What a glorious life God has prepared for you and me in heaven can’t be imagined with our human finite mind
God's Comprehensive Insurance Policy
? Mentioned in Psalms 91
Psalm 91 is a psalm of confidence that reminds us that God protects and preserves those who are His. Life will bring trouble and we will face danger, but as the people of God we can live above fear and trust that He will never let us fall

A Declaration of God’s Care for His People (91:3-4)
• The presence of danger (vs. 3) While this is a psalm about God’s protection and care the psalmist refers often to the dangers that are present. He speaks through images and pictures, here describing being caught in a hunter’s trap and then suffering from a deadly disease.
• A God who draws near and fights our battles (vs. 4) The vivid imagery continues as the psalmist describes God’s intimate care (a mother bird) and His faithful protection (His shield and armor).
The Results of God’s Care (91:5-8)
• We will not fear (vv. 5-6) While dangers come in various forms and at any time (day or night) those who trust in Him can live without fear.
• We will not fall (vv. 7-8) God will judge the wicked, but this is our hope – that as His people we don’t have to fear His judgment. He will judge the world, but we will not fall (Exodus 9:4-7; 12:12-13).
The Means of God’s Care (91:9-13)
• The ones who God protects (vv. 9-10) One thing that is emphasized throughout the psalm is that the promises of safety and care are not for everyone; they are reserved for the people of God.
• Protected by angels (vv. 11-12) The Bible teaches that angels are created by God and used by Him for different purposes. One way God uses angels is in the guarding and protecting of His people.
• God’s care should not be needlessly put to the test (Matt. 4:5-7) When Satan tempted Jesus in the desert He quoted Psalm 91:11, calling on Jesus to trust the protection of God’s angels. Jesus makes it clear that God’s promise of protection is not to be tested. At the same time He shows us the need to rightly interpret and apply God’s Word.
God’s Promise of Care for His People (91:14-16)
• In this final section we hear the voice of God as he reiterates the promises of the psalm.
• A promise of safety and rescue – In these three verses God promises His care in seven different ways. The point is clear: God offers safety and rescue for those who are His.
• Promises for the people of God – Again we see that these promises are not universal, they are reserved for the people of God: those who know Him, hold fast to Him and call on Him. This is a relationship that is made possible through repentance and trust in Jesus Christ.
You will find a Peace
• Peace in Darkness- 91:5
You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
• Peace in Disease 91:6
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
• Peace in Destruction 91:7-8
How to safeguard your soul?
1. 1) Be in Christ (1 John 5:11) Salvation is in Christ and only in Christ. ...
2. 2) Remain obedient to Christ (1 John 2:3-5) Jesus expects us to do what HE has commanded. ...
3. 3) God's word must dwell in the saint (1 John 2:14). ...
4. 4) Righteousness must be a way of life (1 John 3:8-10).
Just seconds before He died, Jesus cried out, “Into your hands I commit my spirit” (Luke 23:46).
I want to make two points in response to these words from Jesus.
• The first point is that Jesus wanted to be sure He was in good hands.
• He did not commit His spirit into the hands of Pilate or Caiaphas or the Roman soldiers. Neither did Jesus commit His spirit to Peter, James, John or any of the disciples.
• Jesus wanted to be sure He was in good hands, so He committed His spirit into the hands of God.
•
The second point is that Jesus clearly understood death was not the end.
• He was not speaking some final farewell to life.
• He was not going through the graveside ritual so many of us have observed over the years.
• We gather around the grave and say, “We commit this body to the grave; earth to earth, ashes to ashes, and dust to dust.” That is not the kind of committing Jesus was doing.
Let me explain the difference between life insurance and life assurance.
1. First of all, with life insurance you pay the premiums all of your life, but nothing happens until you die.
• After you die somebody else is the beneficiary of the investment you have made over the years.
• More importantly, you can be denied life insurance if you happen to have any pre-existing conditions that might cause an insurance company to view you as too high of a risk.
• The songwriter said, “Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain; He washed it white as snow.”
God knows my weaknesses, but He will insure me. God knows all the sins of my past and all the evil that rolls around in my mind in the present, but God will issue me a life assurance policy despite my pre-existing condition.
I love the assurance of Romans 5:8 that says, “While we were still sinning Christ died for the ungodly.” I love the assurance of the hymn that says, “He looked beyond my faults and saw my needs.” This is the true meaning of grace: that the sins of our past do not prevent us from receiving the blessings God has in store for us.
2. Second, However, with LIFE ASSURANCE Somebody else has already paid the premiums in full.
as the song I just quoted suggests, you and I can receive a life assurance policy even if we have the pre-existing condition-and all of us do have a pre-existing condition.
All of us have the pre-existing condition of sin. Psalms 51:5 reminds us, “Surely I was sinful
at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.”
Insurance is a good way to protect some things in your life, but it’s not a perfect solution.
