"Do not conform to the present age, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind. Then you will be able to discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect." - Romans 12:2
As followers of Christ, we are called to live counter-culturally, resisting the pressure to conform to the values and norms of the present age. But what does it mean to "not conform" and how can we be "transformed by the renewal of mind"?
In this passage, Paul urges believers to reject the status quo and embrace a transformation that begins with a renewed mind. This transformation is not a surface-level adjustment but a deep-seated change that enables us to:
• Recognize and challenge the world's distorted values and beliefs
• Embrace God's perspective and wisdom
• Discern His perfect will, good pleasing and perfect
As we allow God to renew our minds, we begin to see the world through His lens. We are empowered to live distinct lives, no longer bound by the limitations and expectations of the present age. Instead, we become agents of transformation, reflecting God's goodness and perfection in a world that desperately needs it.
Let us embrace this transformation, allowing God to mold us into vessels of honor, pleasing to Him and purposeful in our witness. Rise above the present age, and shine the light of God's truth and love.
