TIME FOR A RESET
A WORD FOR THE NEW YEAR - “Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.” Isaiah 42:9??
As the true and living God, our Creator God is actively involved in the lives of His people. The things He has promised in the past have come to pass. However, when we as humans make New Year’s resolutions, or any resolutions, they rarely come to pass. And, if they do, they don’t last, or they are flawed in some way.
A SOLUTION FOR THE NEW YEAR - But not so with God! God is perfect. He makes all things beautiful in His time. He knows the end from the beginning. He sees all things and knows exactly what is best for us. God alone is always faithful! What He says always comes to pass. Furthermore, it’s always the best!
The Almighty God promised us a Savior. And God kept His promise. He gave us the very best in His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus came to make all things new. Through His death, burial and resurrection, Christ ushered in the new age of the new creation so that He could make all things new in you (2 Corinthians 5:17). In Christ, old things are passed away and all things become new. Hallelujah for new beginnings!
A PLAN FOR THE NEW YEAR - A new year is upon us, and God is preparing to do a new thing in the Earth. God is a God of new beginnings. His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). And the good news is, He wants you to get in on it.
The best New Year’s resolution you can make is to resolve to stop trying to change by your own fleshly efforts. "For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His" (Hebrews 4:10). Instead, resolve to let the Lord Jesus Christ make the needed changes in your life. Remember, He can do it. It’s time for a reset!
Therefore, reset your faith in dependency upon the Lord Jesus Christ and continually trust Him with all you are and have. Now you’ve got something to look forward to!?Now that sounds like a plan!
A PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR - “Father God, I have been so busy trying to make things happen, but now I realize that is your responsibility. Just as you brought the former things to pass, so you will bring the future things to pass. Most of all, you will perfect that which concerns me. Therefore, I reset my faith upon you Lord Jesus. I trust you to enable me to do what you deem best for my life. The reset is complete, and now I’m good to go in the Lord. So, bring on the New Year!”
