Summary: Anyone that call on the name of the Lord, shall be safed. All that called on Him like the Blind Bathemeaus then and those calling on Him today, without exception, receives help no matter how terrible the situation may be hence He is Jehovah Ebenezer, our Helper!

Psalms 44:1-26

1. We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.

2. How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.

3. For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.

4. Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.

5. Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.

6. For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

7. But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.

8. In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.

9. But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.

10. Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.

11. Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.

12. Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price.

13. Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.

14. Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.

15. My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,

16. For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.

17. All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.

18. Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;

19. Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.

20. If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;

21. Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

22. Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

23. Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.

24. Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?

25. For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.

26. Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies' sake.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO ARISE FOR GOD TO ARISE FOR OUR HELP

WHY MUST GOD ARISE TO HELP YOU?

1. To fulfill your destiny (Jer. 29:11; John 10:10).

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

2. To turn your shame to fame (Zeph. 3:19).

Zephaniah 3:19 Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame

3 To make you fruitful in all ways (Zech. 8:12).

Zechariah 8:12 For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.

4 To move from prison to the palace (Gen. 41:14-44). You know the story of Joseph whom the enemy meant evil for but God turned it for good by helping him. In Genesus 50:18-20 Joseph testified

Genesis 50:18-20 And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants.

And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?

But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

5. To be celebrated in your life (Mal. 3:16-18).

Malachi 3:16-18 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

6. To bring your expectation to pass (Prov. 23:18).

Proverbs 23:18 For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

7. To enjoy your life with ease and comfort (Job 36:11; Is. 1:19).

Job 36:11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

8. To be a blessing to your generation (Gen. 12:2).

Genesis 12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

9. To be the head and not the tail (Deut. 28:13).

Genesis 28:13 And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;

RECAP: REMEMBERING THOSE GOD HELPED

Hannah (1 Sam. 1: 5-20)

God answered her prayer and opened her womb after many harrowing years of barrenness. She became the mother of Samuel, Israel’s greatest judge.

2. Joseph (Gen. 41:14-46)

God made an event to happen and he was remembered in prison. He was moved from prison to become the prime minister in a strange land, Egypt – earth’s most powerful nation of the time.

3. Mephibosheth (2 Sam. 9:1-13)

God made David to remember him after years of neglect in his father’s house. He was sought out and honoured by David.

Mordecai (Esther 6:1-12)

God made the king to open the book of the records of the chronicles for the good deeds of Mordecai and he was honoured and promoted by the king.

The Israelites (Ex. 2:23-25)

God heard their cry after over 400 years of slavery in Egypt. He rescued them when He knew the right time had come.

WHEN GOD HELP YOU WHAT MUST YOU DO?

Do not forget God.

Do not forget your vow.

Do not forget those God used for you.

Don’t turn your back on God.

Don’t be ungrateful.

Share your testimony.

Bless other people and help the needy.

Intercede for others.

Be thankful to God always.

Remain humble.

WHO WILL GOD ARISE TO HELP?

God is willing to help everyone that call on him for help. The problem is that only those that know his voice will hear him when he comes to help.

John 10:27-28 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

The good news is that God is calling you to him today so you can begin to hear his voice. He says

Matthew 11:28

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Are you not yet Born Again,? you can't hear him when he comes to help. Today is your day of salvation.

Come and answer Him, Jesus is calling you.
