New: “not existing before; made, introduced, or discovered recently or now for the first time.” (Google.com)
Song: “a short poem or other set of words set to music or meant to be sung.” (Google.com)
New Song: A set of words, set to music, that God puts in our mouths – that were not in existence before.
God wants us to sing new songs to praise His name. He is the one who puts new songs in the mouths of His children (Psalm 40:3). I pray that God will perfect all that pertains to you and fill your lips with new songs, in Jesus' name.
You must learn to wait upon the Lord to get to the realm of singing a new song. When you wait on Him, He fights your battles for you and brings you victory.
King David said, “I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord” (Ps. 40:1-3).
A songwriter sang, “See what the Lord has done /2x
What we waited for has come to pass
See what the Lord has done.”
To wait is to pray, hope, trust, and expect.
Hannah waited (for nineteen years) upon the Lord to help correct her infertility problem, and at last, God gave her a new song when the Lord answered her prayer by moving her from the realm of barrenness to one of fruitfulness (1 Sam. 1:12-20).
• Pray for a turnaround in your life, that God will remove all forms of barrenness and lack from your life, and that you may sing a new song.
Waiting involves patience and anger control:
Peninnah taunted Hannah all the time, but Hannah never lost her sanity. She did not allow the abuses to develop into jealousy and hatred. While waiting for God to give you a new song, people may taunt you, but you must have self-control.
Prophet Eli also misunderstood and disrespected Hannah, but she did not leave the church or lose control.
Hannah’s Song: 1 Sam. 2:2
“There is none holy as the LORD:
For there is none beside thee:
Neither is there any rock like our God.”
Miriam sang a new song on the occasion of the deliverance of God’s children from slavery and the experience of parting the Red Sea on dry ground.
• Pray that God will look down from heaven to deliver you from stagnancy, that you might sing a new song.
• Pray that all the difficulties that stare at you in the face shall part way before you, that you might sing a new song.
May you be filled with new songs in Jesus' name.
