One day Mr Sun was talking to Tommy and told Tommy that he had never ever seen darkness. Tommy said, “I can show you darkness, I know exactly where to find where it is very dark, come with me”. So, Tommy led Mr. Sun down a dark alley. When they got there, it was very light. “Oh my, it has always been dark in this alley, but never mind follow me into this very dark basement it is so dark in here you cannot even see your hand” When they got down into the basement once again there was no darkness. You see wherever the sun goes there can be no darkness.
John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
The Greek word for voice is phone and carries the thought of a revelation; Phone comes from phaino, which means "to enlighten" or "to shine." Phaino is derived from phos. Phos is the root word and means, to shine or make manifest, it is the manifestation of God's self-existent life; divine illumination to reveal and impart life, through Christ.
Phone can mean "disclosure" or "revelation" through an address or speech—a message!
John 10:1-5 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5 Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”
The sheep know the shepherd's voice. When the shepherds in the fields went to sleep at night, they would make an enclosure with thick bush which they put in a big circle. More than one shepherd shared this safe space for their sheep. They then camped in the doorway of the enclosure. In the morning each shepherd would call his own sheep by name. Each individual sheep would recognize their shepherd's voice and follow the voice they heard.
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and he with Me.
There is a time when you get to know the Lord for yourself. Your own walk with God, you hear His voice, you know God intimately and powerfully, that God Himself is your Father and sups with you and you with Him. You hear no other voice because you have had a revelation of who God is for yourself, Your very own awakening. You opened the door and invited Jesus into your life. Now you banqueting with Him
We opened the door reverently and joyfully, and before we realized it, we found ourselves digging deep into the storehouse of God’s treasures of wisdom and knowledge and sitting with Him at His banqueting table.
HE, the Great Shepherd of the sheep and Lord of our souls has come to abide with us, and our cup overflows with the unspeakable riches of His grace and the wonder of His glorious and eternal reality. Isn’t it wonderful!
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.
This passage can only refer to the spiritual presence of Christ living with you because you heard His voice and opened your heart’s door to the intimacy of fellowship and oneness with Christ.
We eat at the table of the Lord and then we take a doggie bag of some of the food to our friends and families so that they can taste the truth of this awesome living food.
Romans 10:14-15 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
Some years ago, I was in a meeting with about forty pastors and suddenly I felt a strong force within my stomach. Never mind butterflies in the stomach, it felt like military jets flying inside of me. I tried to not disturb the others in the meeting so I climbed off my chair onto the floor. It only got worse, or should I say better. I started to cry out loudly so I pulled myself up onto my chair and was hanging over the seat of the chair holding on with my arms. The next moment Jesus himself walked into the room and came to where I was holding on with all I had. Now I was unaware of any other people in the room. He asked me to open my hands and I experienced Jesus putting bread in my hands. He then said to me, “Where you go and give this bread of life away, I will multiply it”. I fell on the floor crying out loudly not concerned about what anybody else thought. Jesus had given me a personal mandate.
I heard the voice of Jesus personally the Phos the manifest word of God, the manifestation of Christ's life; divine revelation through Christ. My life changed radically; I became a carrier of the good news the light of Christ Jesus.
Since that day I travelled to forty-four different nations taking the bread of life to give to those who were hungry. There is not enough time, it will take days to speak of the multiplication of this bread that was given to me.
Luke 4:16-24 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
Jesus Christ has now anointed us with His Holy Spirit, we became the light to carry His Word to the world.
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!” We have been anointed not for bad news of destruction and doom but for life, light, and love.
2 Peter 1:19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;
We have been taken out of darkness, we who were once darkness now carry the light to shine in darkness. Wherever we go there cannot be darkness because light overcomes darkness.
Colossians 1:12-14 Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light
Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
We are the light of the Lord in a dark world. Wherever we go the Light of God goes with us.
They say that the fastest ‘physical’ thing in the Universe is light itself. But I say darkness is much faster as it runs away from light. Darkness is actually the absence of light.
I have travelled in an airplane when crossing time zones. To help passengers reset their body’s internal clock so they can be awake at the right time they close all the window blinds and switch off the lights to allow all to sleep when it is daylight time outside. It is dark inside the plane and if someone opens their window blind, light floods in and you almost hear everybody waking up and saying, “Close that blind” When it is dark outside and the lights are on in the aircraft, you have no need to close the blinds to not allow the darkness in.
In the same way, if you are in a very dark hall and you light a small candle, after a short while the whole hall is lit up and you can see almost everything. If the lights are on and you have darkness in your pocket and let it out, that darkness will not affect the light at all.
Jesus Christ is the light that we are, wherever we go, and no one can snuff out the light.
John 1:1-9 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
In the beginning was the Word. In the Word was life. And that life was the light of men. The Word, the Life, and the Light are one. The revelation of the word is the light revealing the truth. “Thy word is truth.” Truth is the Word! The Word is the Light!
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Walk in the truth and be the light in this dark world.
