The Power of Prophetic Pronouncement.
Study Text: Isaiah 3: 10 - 11
Introduction:
- In the program of men, divisions are found among mankind, along the lines of wealth, skin colour, tribe, or gender.
- But when God looks at humanity, He divides mankind according to His Kingdom: The Righteous, and The Wicked.
- For instance, Abel was righteous because he sought to please God, whereas Cain was wicked because he sought to please himself.
- The righteous do what God says because they love God. The wicked do what they want to do, because they are controlled by the powers of darkness.
1 John 3:10-12.
- The Almighty God whose word can never fail, is the One who has said we should say unto the righteous that it shall be well with them.
- The importance of any statement depends on the person speaking. God is the Alpha and the Omega (Revelation 2:13); He declares the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10) and nothing can change His promise that says it shall be well with the righteous.
- So, the question is who are the righteous?
- The first step towards becoming righteous is surrendering your life to Jesus Christ. He is the only One who can make us righteous. Romans 10:4
- The next step then is to remain in Him so you can produce much fruit John 15:4-5.
- If you have fulfilled or made up your mind to fulfil the conditions described above, then the Word of the Lord is coming into your life today: it shall be well with you, in Jesus name.
- We shall be discussing the topic under three subheadings:
1. The Jurisdiction of the Prophetic Pronouncement.
2. The Justification for the Prophetic Pronouncement.
3. The Judgment by the Prophetic Pronouncement.
1. The Jurisdiction of the Prophetic Pronouncement:
- The statement “It shall be well with the righteous” however means different things to different people.
1. To the poor, it means his or her wealth is guaranteed because the Lord is the One who gives power to get wealth Deuteronomy 8:18.
2. To the captive, it means the fellow will be delivered. Our God is the Lord of hosts. He will destroy all the forces holding such a person captive Isaiah 49:25.
3. To the Sick, it means the Lord will make him perfectly whole and sound because the chastisement of our peace and healing is on Him.
4. To the barren, it means that the person shall conceive; He is the One able to raise children out of stones Matthew 3:9.
5. To the one who has been experiencing failure, it means success is coming, for God is the Great Promoter Psalm 75:6-7.
6. To the one who has been experiencing delay, it means that the Lord will visit divinely and his expectations shall be met speedily.
7. To the one that is seeking for His righteousness, the Lord will uphold Him by His grace till the end.
- God wants to do something special for His children in this season. Remember, His word can never fail. What He has said must surely come to pass.
- Hold on to His word in faith and you will never be disappointed. It shall certainly be well with you, in the mighty name of Jesus.
2. The Justification for the Prophetic Pronouncement:
- Why Is God Saying It Shall Be Well With The Righteous? There are several justifications to believe the fulfilment of the Prophetic Pronouncement:
1. Because Their Sins Are Taken Away and Forgiven.
- Sin is the greatest evil, a sinker and a burden Mathew 11:28 .
- Romans 4:7: Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
2. Because God Will Not Allow The Righteous To See Corruption Psalms 16:5 – 6.
- God fill the hearts of the righteous with fullness of joy and pleasures of His presence.
3. Because God Will Defend The Righteous
Psalms 91:1 – 5
- With confidence in His Word, God will defend, protect and fight the battles confronting the righteous.
4. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous Psalm 34:15.
- He gives them divine guidance and divine favour.
5. The Lord listens to the cry of the righteous.
- God will never forsake the righteous
There is an everlasting remembrance of the righteous (Psalm 112:6)
6. The steps of the righteous are ordered by God. He leads us to a place of peace Psalm 37:23.
7. The descendants of the righteous never lack Psalm 37:25.
- The Lord will uphold the righteous and provide for their needs.
8. The ways of the righteous are known by God.
- The Lord knows everything that is happening and will happen to the righteous, and He can make all things to work out for His good. Romans 8:28
3. The Judgment by the Prophetic Pronouncement:
- The Lord sent Isaiah with a word of encouragement for His people saying “say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him”.
- This word is fully applicable to you in Christ. He is still saying to us, that it well with us.
- God has a message for everyone. It is well with the righteous, and it is not well with the ungodly at all. Psalms 1: 1 - 5.
- God will always make a distinction between the godly and the ungodly, even though, He desires the repentance of the wicked. Isaiah 55: 5 - 7.
- Life out of Christ is crisis and will eventually lead to eternal destruction.
- Do not allow the world to convince you that it is better out there. Do not quit. Do not be discouraged. Romans 12: 1 - 2.
- We may have some challenges because of who we are as believers, but it is well with the righteous.
- The world is heading to destruction. Do not envy the world and the ungodly. It is very sad to see how the world is making its way into the Church. Believers are trying to “sanctify” the “system of the world” in many different forms.
- Many artists today will do anything to succeed in their career and become famous. The world will hail them, but not God.
- Your business competitor might be using falsehood to grow rich. That is not for you. Your colleague might have had that promotion by doing something which you cannot do as a believer. There is more about a happy life than promotion or salary increases.
- The Lord is saying to us that it is well with us. We do not have to copy the system of the world. We have something better.
- Why will things go bad for the unrighteous?
1. They are not recognized as the Children of God in His Kingdom. John 1: 11 - 12.
2. They are separated from God and far away from His blessings.
3. They are under the control and torment of the powers of darkness. Ephesians 2:2
4. They are sowing to the flesh and are duty bound to reap corruption. Galatians 6: 6 - 8.
5. They are under the attacks, resistance and opposition of the enemy continually.
Conclusion:
- We must strive to walk in His righteousness continually in all areas of our lives. 2 Corinthians 5:15.
- We must gladly received the Prophetic Pronouncement with faith and earnestly expect the performance in all necessary areas of our lives.
- We must walk in agreement with the Prophetic Pronouncement and avoid all forms of negative confessions and doubtful statements.
