But Jesus, turning to them, said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children”. Luke 23:28
In this verse, Jesus was predicting that there will come a time of weeping when Jerusalem will be destroyed. In the year 70 AD, this Jerusalem was destroyed.
Jesus did not cause a stir when he spoke about the future like prophets of this generation did. He spoke simply in between words describing Jerusalem’s devastation. For Jesus, being able to predict the future was nothing extraordinary.
Jesus was able to perceive and describe the future while still living in the present. Jesus did not use time travel to see/predict the future. Both the present and the future were real to Jesus.
Jesus was able to see both the present and the future of a place at the same time.
Jesus has the ability to see the past, present, and future of a location all at once/same time. Past, present and future are 3 different layers of time. In Ezekiel’s vision, where he saw wheel in the middle of a wheel (Ezekiel 1:16), similar to that Jesus sees the past, present and future as time layer in the middle of a time layer. All these different layers are linked in complex way. Jesus views all layers of time over a location at once. God is not constrained by any single time layer and lives in all times, therefore He can see all layers of time over an area at once.
For example – Today is one layer of time, tomorrow is another layer, future after 20 years is one more layer, like this there are 20 layers. Jesus is able to see all 20 layers of time of a place at the same time. To see the past or the future, Jesus did not require time travel.
God sees His past, present, and future all at once when he looks at a person. For instance, God describes Gideon as a strong warrior before he had ever fought.
Jesus sees around three-time layers (past, present and future) for each person. Jesus has to see at least 300-million-time layers for 100 million people. Jesus sees 300 million layers, but because He loves His people so much, He remembers the specifics of each time layer.
God always sees His Plans and His nature being created in His people, whether they be in their past, present, or future. The focus of God is His plans and His nature revealed in His people. All other things do not get God’s attention. God was unconstrained by space or time. God is eternally present.
In God, the layers of time make an existence. God was outside the layers of time, but for humanity entered time bound layers to reveal Jesus. A God who is perfect came into a time layer of imperfection. The layer of time cannot fully contain God. Jesus humbled himself and entered a time bound layer of growth (in terms of age)
Humans perceive the present and reflect about the past.
For God, the present, past, and future are all simultaneously seen as layers (time layer inside a time layer).
This particular feature of God’s vision is special. There is nothing that God cannot see.
For all these years, we believed that prophets went ahead in the future to see it and journeyed back in time to see past. This perception is incorrect.
A prophet can simultaneously see all the layers of time, including the present, past, and future, when God opens his eyes for a particular location. There is no time travel.
