Childlike Faith is a faith where we have more faith than doubts. A child can think and concentrate on only one subject or thought at a time. He focuses solely on one subject, either with faith or doubt. If he needs something, he will have only faith. If he has doubt on something, he will be only doubting. Whatever he thinks, whether with doubt or faith, is clearly seen. But, as adults, we have so many thoughts or things running in our minds. At any given time, we have at least 5-6 thoughts running in our minds.
For example, in a given situation, we may have three faith-related and three doubt-related thoughts running parallelly at the same time. Our minds transform into a theater, with 5-6 movies playing on the same screen, each with a different soundtrack. We are always in a dilemma for everything because of these many thoughts at the same time. We recollect past experiences, such as failures, as well as current situations, which cause us to have much more doubts. Even good thoughts and self-thoughts might cause a lot of doubts. We have a lot of this baggage in our minds, which causes our minds to fluctuate. Because 5-6 thoughts are running parallelly at the same time, it is always a battle in our minds, such as 4 thoughts of faith and 2 thoughts of doubt or vice versa. With so many thoughts running in our minds, we can’t even do the basic things properly like converse, laugh, sit, sleep, or make the right decisions.
We don’t have just one thought running in our minds, but several thoughts, which is why many people are always thinking and have even lost sleep. If you want to have childlike faith, focus on one thought at a time, and that one thought should be a faith related thought. Some people have 20-30 thoughts running in their minds at the same time. These people are in a severe or depressive state. Many people come to church with a lot of thoughts on their minds. Start submitting all of your thoughts to God one by one, and ask God to make you a single thought person.
Jesus is simple and clear. Thinking at least 5-6 thoughts at the same moment will not benefit you. Begin by practicing simply thinking or concentrating on one thought at a time for a situation. One thought of faith at a time. How simple is your life if we just have one thought, and that thought is a thought of faith? Children maintain their innocence through a single thought process.
Nowadays, children have also become like adults thinking 5-6 thoughts at the same time. Today, we need deliverance from multi-thinking and the old baggage of good and bad thoughts. If your mind is already occupied with 5-6 thoughts, it becomes difficult for God to deposit His thoughts. Make your mind almost empty, so that God can deposit some of his thoughts.
Finally, make the two points listed below your prayer requests.
1) Ask Holy Spirit to make you single thought minded — to think only one thought at a time.
2) Ask Holy Spirit to transform the single thought you have into a thought of faith in God
