TEXT: Hebrews13:8
"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."
'TIMES 'OF LIFE
Life is divided into three distinct phases or times. The past or yesterday, the present or today and the future or tomorrow. Life changes constantly and these phases are interwoven; one affects the another. The only constant thing in life is change and the only unchangeable being is Christ. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. If you have Jesus in your life, then you are sure of one thing; whatever promise he made or makes or will make concerning your life is sure to come to pass. The word of God for your life will not fail. The grace to do the right things at the right times the Father will grant to you in Jesus name.
THE PAST OR YESTERDAY
The past is gone. It can never be retrieved except in memories. The past is divided into two parts: the good and the bad and both constantly intrude into the present and future. Isaiah 43:18 says: "Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old." Do not dwell on the evil of the past. The day you become born again, all terrible records of the past are wiped out. You become a new creature, old things are past away. But the devil persists in afflicting people with their past in dreams and memories. Many people are stuck in the past and cannot move forward. Every power taking you back to Egypt, the fire of God will consume in Jesus name. The hand of the Almighty will carry you from your troubled past and transport you to your destiny in Jesus name.
Instead of dwelling in the past, the Bible says in Philippians 4:8: "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true ... honest ... just ... pure ...lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue...and praise, think on these things." The testimonies of what God has done for you in the past will increase your faith and launch you into your future. Your yesterday will not truncate God's plan for your tomorrow in Jesus name.
THE PRESENT OR TODAY (NOW)
Today is the present, the here and now. It can be categorized into the 'present present' and the 'present future.' Isaiah 43:19 says, "Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." God says he wants do a new thing in your life, NOW it shall spring forth. Today, the Lord will surprise you with a new thing in the name of Jesus. He also says in 2 Corinthians 6:2 "I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." The salvation of your soul is the utmost thought in God's heart. Today as your hear the word, accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. You have this moment to live, the next moment is not in your hands. Exodus 14:3-4 says: "...Fear ye not, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord ...for the Egyptians whom you see today, ye shall see again no more forever. The Lord shall fight for you and ye shall hold your peace." Every battle you are facing today, the Lord will take over and fight for you in Jesus name. God is in your every moment. From today, your enemies shall begin to tremble and fear because of you as God will instil your dread upon them in Jesus name (Deut 2:25). As you walk with God daily, he will provide your daily bread and protect and sustain you in Jesus name.
Jesus told one of the thieves crucified with him in Luke 23:43, "verily, I say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise." Immediately the thief died, that same day, his spirit awakened in another realm and continued the unfinished day with Jesus. Today is made up of 24hrs, the present is now, the present future is the remaining hours you have in each day. When a believer dies, his day continues with the Lord in eternity as there is no night in heaven. Christianity is a daily walk with God. TODAY is the most important day of your life. Live it like no other and live it for Jesus. The grace of God will be sufficient for you today in Jesus name.
THE FUTURE OR TOMORROW
The future is not in your hands but your thoughts today shapes your tomorrow. The future consist of the temporal (earthly) and eternal future. Many are consumed with worries and anxieties about their tomorrow that may ruin their today. Some others are tormented by their past and weighed down by their thoughts for the future that they become living corpses today. Jesus said: "... Don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries..." (Matthew 6:30 NLT). The future of every believer is in God's hands (will). Proverb 27:1 tells us: "Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." You may not know exactly how tomorrow will turn out but be rest assured your tomorrow is alright. Hear what God said: "For I know the plans I have for you...They are plans for good and not disaster, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11NLT).
The fact that tomorrow is in God's hands does not mean we should not plan for it. God has plans for our tomorrow, we therefore must also plan. The expectation of God is that our plan must not be outside of His will. As you acknowledge God in all your ways, He will direct you path (Prov 3:6). The Bible says in Psalms 37:23: "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way." The Lord will give you divine wisdom and order your future on a glorious and delightful path in Jesus name.
In your temporal future, seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness as your first priority and your earthly needs will be provided for (Matthew 6:33). Doing this will also secure your eternal future with Christ in heaven. For those that have not received Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, their eternity is with Satan in hellfire. TODAY is the day of salvation. Don't postpone your salvation, receive Jesus NOW.
PRAYER:
# Every evil altar raised to derail my future or the future of my children scatter by fire in Jesus name.
# Father, I rest in the assurance that your thoughts for me are good. My future is secure in you in the mighty name of Jesus.
CONFESSION:
My yesterday is forgiven, I walk with my Saviour day by day by His grace and my tomorrow is secure in His hands.
