You shall warn them ….
2 Chronicles 19: 10”Whenever any dispute comes to you from your brethren who live in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, you shall warn them so that they may not be guilty before the LORD, and wrath may not come on you and your brethren. Thus you shall do and you will not be guilty.”
This devotion may not be thrilling or exciting; however, it is important that I teach you today to read the Word of God and increase your knowledge of God. Are you listening? There are many out there who touch the Bible only on Sundays and few others don’t do even that; yet, they have ample time to browse facebook and instagram. Careful! Study the Word of God seriously and live it out! The above scripture talks about the reformation work of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah. He appointed Levites, priests and seniors to teach the people about the rules of God and also warn them that the wrath of God would come upon them if they falter. Jehoshaphat was clear when he said: you shall warn them …
Normally, people hesitate to point out mistakes even if it may be glaring for all to see for fear of offending them, sermons from pulpits are like soothing balm today, no one cares to take the effort to point errors and correct them so that they change and be blessed. When people correct you, remember they do it because they care, the Bible says: Psalm 141:5 “Let the righteous smite me in kindness and reprove me; It is oil upon the head; Do not let my head refuse it..”
When a lady of different faith came to me for prayer about her husband who was into an affair with his secretary for several years, I took a print out of my article on ‘adultery’ with Bible quotes that severely warned people of drastic punishment for adulterers. Since this guy was of very high position, many disheartened me from doing it; nevertheless, I encouraged the wife to give it to her husband. He read it but did not change, eventually at a very young age, he was kicked out from his high-profiled job, he had a heart attack in the office premises and died instantly. Everything happened speedily within a very short span of time. The sinner was explained and taught about his atrocities and the punishment that would follow. Did you see that?
If your friend is in a relationship with the wrong person warn her...
If your colleague is into fraudulent practices, warn him...
