Summary: A short sermon on what God planed what Jesus did and what is required of us

The Incarnation of Jesus Christ is utterly Essential to our Reconciliation that we are looking at this morning. For you see when we are talking about Jesus the Christ we are talking about God Himself.

Today I want to use a word that is in the KJV. It’s a great word. When combined with Faith it has deep meaning and paints a wonderful pictures if we will just consider its “deep and Christian” roots.

When it comes down to this meaning of reconciliation it shows God in his love for us is complete and perfect Love.

It paints a picture of God forgiving us of everything we have ever done that is against his teachings.

It then lays out, because of His Love for us, how we are to use His example, with the Holy Spirits unction, to forgive others.

NOW HEAR THE READING OF GOD’S WORD:

Romans 5:1-11 - NLT

Faith Brings Joy

5 Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace  with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. 2 Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.

3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

6 When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. 7 Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. 9 And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. 10 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. 11 So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.

THE WORD OF GOD FOR THE

PEOPLE OF GOD

---------------------------------

If you've ever tried to make up for something you did wrong, then you understand the notion of reconciliation.

This morning we will let the Word of God speak to us about His great love and example:

Romans 5:10-11

For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

*forgiveness.

2 Corinthians 5:18-20

All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

*We are to love like God loves so they can see forgiveness like God see’s it.

Ephesians 2:14-17

For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility.

*We are no longer under the Law because

*Christ has given us Grace because of his Death on the Cross.

As Christ forgave us so should we forgive others:

Matthew 5:23-24

So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

*If someone has something against “you” go and reconciled that problem.

*If you don’t there will be problems with God blessing you.

*There will be problems with the one that has something against you.

*We are to live so people can see Christ in us.

-Knowing we will not be what we should be but what we want to be.

-Live, striving to know God better, so that they will want Christ in their lives.

Romans 12:18

If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

Hebrews 12:14

Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.

God has and will accept you because of what Jesus did by dying on that old rugged cross so we can receive forgiveness from the One True God.

Receive God Live Life like Jesus has and

-tell others, in your own way, that God is leading you and what He has done for you.

*OFFER THEM THE SALVATION YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN and let God do his reconciliation with them.
