SCRIPTURES: Acts 2:1-5 King James Version
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in
one place.2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty
wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.3 And there appeared unto
them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.4 And they were all
filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave
them utterance.5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of
every nation under heaven.
INTRODUCTION:
The disciples now multiplied to one hundred and twenty having been instructed by
the Lord Jesus Christ before His ascension, to remain in Jerusalem that the promise
of the Holy Ghost and power will come upon them was without a doubt obeyed.
They waited in much prayer and supplication to the Lord in the dwelling of Peter and
the ten other first Disciples of Christ in an upper room. They ordained a new Apostle,
Matthias to replace the Apostle that fell from grace Judas Iscariot. We see that
ordination through the Leading of the Holy Ghost is a key factor in propelling the
Gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth. Yet, as they waited on Power to come they never
fathom in their heart what it will look, sound, feel nor spoken like.
Today I indulge in the agenda of the Lord Jesus Christ for the ministry of His gospel
and the workings of His Holy Ghost that is the embodiment of the Powerhouse or
source of all power of the Kingdom of God on the face of the earth.
1. THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY GHOST-THE HOUSING OF THE HOLY GHOST
Ruach (pronounced roo-akh) is the Hebrew word for spirit, breath, or wind.
When spoken, the word engages one’s breath and lungs.
The first mention of Ruach in the Bible is in the very first chapter of Genesis – Genesis 1:2: And the
earth was a formless and desolate emptiness, and darkness was over
the surface of the deep, and the Spirit (Ruach) of God was hovering over
the surface of the waters.
Powerhouse in American English has two definition:
1. Electricity a generating station
2. a person, group, team, or the like, having great energy, strength,
or potential for success.
-Power and influence belongs to the Holy Ghost He is the Generating Station
that supply the source to accomplish purpose on the earth.
-He needs the earthen vessel to work through on the earth. Ezekiel 22:30
English Standard Version 30 And I sought for a man among them who should
build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should
not destroy it, but I found none.
-He is the power within the man.
-He chooses the vessel to use.
-He makes the vessel into what He desires the vessel to be. He convicts the
heart; He shapes the flesh and prunes it. He builds up the spirit man.
-He is the unseen force behind our prayer and our supplication of each vessel.
-He is the influencer that propels the word of God on the earth through the
vessels of God.
-He is the educator of that which is in heaven and in the earth and also the
things beneath the earth in the vessel of God.
-He is the Glory of God in the Man and Woman that perfect them in His own
image and likeness.
We are the temple that holds the power of God, the Holy Ghost in our bodies.
We are to keep that which He has given to us Holy and sanctified. We must take
care of the body and not abuse it with worldly pleasures.
2. THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY GHOST – OPERATIONS OF THE HOLY GHOST
Acts 2:2-4
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing
mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.3 And there
appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of
them.4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak
with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
-Anointing is not just oil poured upon, but it is power that is poured out.
2 Kings 4 talks about the widow woman that poured out the little oil in
borrowed Jars at the word of the Prophet and it miraculously filled up
each jar. The Anointing of the Holy Ghost is demonstrated power.
-The Holy Ghost comes in the right atmosphere at the right time. The
atmosphere was charged in the unity of the saints, in the holiness and
prayerfulness of the saints in the upper room.
-He is the person of Jesus Christ. He does nothing other than by the
word of God the Father and the Son Jesus Christ.
-He endorses and solidifies Christ and what Jesus has done on the earth
and what He has said on the earth.
-He is attracted to the name of Jesus as He is spoken of by the two’s and
three’s that are gathered.
-He is the same Power that performed miracles in the beginning of time by the
spoken word of the Father.
-He is the same power that protected the Israelites in Egypt when the Lamb’s
blood was applied on the door post and the lintel of their homes.
-He is the power that sustained the Pillar of cloud by day and the Pillar of Fire
by Night in the wilderness.
-He is the power that consumed each sacrificed made by the men of God upon
the Altar of the Lord.
-He is the mighty rushing wind that rushed into the upper room.
-He is the cloven tongues of Fire that sat on each person.-He is the language
that was spoken upon their tongues.
-He is the anointing that consumes the flesh of man and transform them into
the house that has power to heal, deliver and set free from bondages.
OH! HOW AWESOME IS THE OPERATING POWER AND ANOINTING OF THE HOLY GHOST.
3. THE PERFECTION OF THE HOLY GHOST- THE SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD TO
PERFECT THE SAINTS OF GOD.
Revelation 4:5, “From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and
peals of thunder. In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are
the seven spirits of God.”
Isaiah 11:2 also references the Holy Spirit using a seven-fold description: “The
Spirit of the LORD will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of
the LORD.”
The prophecy is that the Messiah would be empowered not by
seven individual spirits but by the One Spirit, described seven ways:
-Every believer has the ability through the Holy Ghost to be perfect on the face
of the earth. There is no excuse for being imperfect. God has given His perfect
ministry of the Holy Ghost to perfect His people.
-These are the Spirits of God that is the embodiment of the Holy Ghost:
1) The Spirit of the LORD
2) The Spirit of wisdom
3) The Spirit of understanding
4) The Spirit of counsel
5) The Spirit of power
6) The Spirit of knowledge
7) The Spirit of the fear of the Lord
-Seven speaks of God perfection and each spirit is found in the operation of the
Holy Ghost as He uses the believer in the earth realm.
-He is seen in each gift of the Holy Ghost:
1 Corinthians 12:7-11King James Version
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of
knowledge by the same Spirit;
9To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the
same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another
discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the
interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man
severally as he will.
-The fivefold gift from God, the ministering servants of God is used by the Holy
Ghost with each spirit to perfect the saints of God Ephesians 4:12
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying
of the body of Christ:
-The ministry of the Holy Ghost is a perfecting ministry to prepare the saints to
meet a perfect God.
CONCLUSION:
The powerhouse is the church of the living God with the generating,
electrifying, magnetizing power within which is the Holy Ghost.
Our duty as a people is not to seek after a building or the house but the power
that is in the house of God.
The Holy Ghost is the one that will make us perfect through the blood of Jesus
Christ. He is the power in the blood when applied to our lives.
The Holy Ghost will cause every ministry of the believer to bear perfect fruit
that can be harvested in the due season.
As I speak of Him and as I write of Him I can feel His presence upon me. I am
convinced that nothing shall separate me from Him.
I pray the pray of David today, Lord take everything from me, but take not your
Holy Ghost as He is my life, my love, my heart.
Holy Ghost now breathe upon your people. Let your power be made known in
their life. Let your presence be felt as you touch their hearts. Let your comfort
bring peace upon their troubled minds. Holy Ghost move in their midst as I
pronounce healing, deliverance and salvation upon the life of your people in
Jesus name.
