FIRST RESPONSE: Where we start often shows what we trust most.

- 2 Chronicles 20:3-4.

a. He starts with the Lord.

b. Starting with an action plan.

c. Starting with self-confidence.

d. Starting with the army.

A MAJOR OBSTACLE TO THE RIGHT RESPONSE: It requires humility.

- 2 Chronicles 20:5-12.

a. Humility.

b. Not self-esteem.

c. The prayer emphasizes who God is. Important to focus more on that than who we are.

- v. 6 – God’s attributes; v. 7 – God’s actions; vv. 10-11 – How God’s promises factors in. The whole thing deeply understands who God is.

d. Seek God and not just His answers.

- vv. 6-9 focus on God, then vv. 10-12 mention the problem.

e. God spoke to someone else, also requiring humility.

- v. 14.

FINDING THAT CONFIDENCE: Does the battle belong to me or God?

- 2 Chronicles 20:15.
