PREFACE SUMMARY
Beloved, this vital message speaks of the corruption found on Earth in the days of Noah. Still, people today loving themselves, proud, rude, and disobedient to their parents (2 Timothy 3:1-13) speaks volumes concerning what the world was like in Noah's day and what it is like today in the 21st century.
Beloved, we all remember the story of Noah found in (Matthew 24:37-39) where the bible speaks about God sending a flood to rid the Earth of all the corruption brought on by ungodly men and women, bringing God to a place where he repented that he ever made man, however to understand this evil in that day better, one need only to go back to the book of (Genesis 6:9) and (2 Peter 2:5) where read how God did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly.
Saints, this message is a comparison of what the world was like before the flood and the similarity of what it is like, especially now in its present state of lawlessness with men walking the streets with other men parading their nakedness in front of children upheld by ungodly leaders in government and school shootings.
LIVING IN PERILOUS TIMES
Beloved, the scene in this timely message takes us back to a place in time when the wickedness of sinful man had become so great, exceeding the mercy of God, that the living God had to repent that he ever made man and devised a plan to destroy his most incredible creation off the face of the Earth. (Genesis 6:6)
Church, God would accomplish this by opening up the heavens and the caverns of the deep with a flood of such proportions that it could never be imagined in the minds of Earth's greatest minds.
Special Note: "Satan had caused some of the Angels to leave their first estate and copulate with the daughters of men producing offspring which were giants in the land, and he did this to try to pollute the blood of man, that he may keep back the promise of God which gives hope to fallen man by bringing a seed of the woman who would bruise his head which is Christ."
To you, the reader, I ask the question, "What is a man attempting to do today with the discovery of cloning and its effect on mankind and, at the same time, denying care to the elderly while killing the unborn?"
Saints, why does (Matthew 24:38) speak of marrying and giving in marriage, was it speaking of the unlawful marriages today that people would give into (consent) and accept this unforbidden lifestyle; now beloved listen, it does not matter what I think about this ungodliness, but one need only to go to a Strong's concordance and look up the description of what a whoremonger and adulterer was in bible days to learn that they were men running after other men to which the word of God states that they which live this lifestyle, shall not enter into the kingdom of God.
Beloved, the scriptures clearly state that God postponed the coming judgment until a remarkable man (Noah) would be born who would find Grace (favor) in his eyes that he could preserve his plan to bring a savior at a particular time in history that would pay the sin debt we owed through Adam once and for all.
Saints, we all know that the message Noah preached for one hundred twenty years was rejected by all except his direct family consisting of eight souls, but wait, beloved, are not the majority in today's world, rejecting Jesus and the message of the cross which provides God's plan of salvation, the same way they did Noah a preacher of righteousness sent from God?
Dear Saints, no one outside Noah's family accepted his plea to prepare for the coming deluge. To help clarify where we are in God's timetable, I would like to share a story with you. We need to condition and prepare ourselves for the days ahead.
Paul spoke to Timothy about a time when men and women would become weak in their faith and give in to the culture around them. They are supposed to influence a fallen world, but instead, they allow the world to influence them. This is caused by their neglect of daily reading and prayer..
In the last days, perilous times shall come. Men shall be lovers of themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those who are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. They would have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof. Therefore, we must turn away from such people.
(2 Timothy 3:1-5) (1) "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come." (2) "For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy," (3) "Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good," (4) "Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;" (5) "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."
I DO NOT NEED THE PUBLICITY
Church, please go with me back in time when God’s man of the hour (Noah) was busy working on an Ark beloved; listen as he preaches about a coming flood that will wipe everything walking, including everything that is living, off the face of the planet, and doing so while men and women are indulging in lavish wild parties provoking lawlessness with danger on every corner.
Beloved, In this scene, we have a young executive looking out his window at an older man who seems to be wasting his time preaching to bystanders, mocking and throwing objects at him, calling him a doomsday prophet who is out of his mind.
Beloved, let us pretend that every day in this story, this young executive would see Noah and his sons working on a structure that is forty feet long with a steady work pace as if they believe in the message that is being preached by this doom day prophet that is making the evening news.
Beloved, take notice in this story as this young executive would be one of the bystanders listening to this man of God plead with the people to believe the message and prepare to be on the Ark when the coming judgment would fall upon ungodly men.
Church, the young man would find himself feeling sorry for this older man and often thought about helping him as a gesture of kindness showing respect for his elders, which is something that he had been taught by his great-grandmother who, from a child, had trained him to have and show respect for his elders.
Church, he would be home watching the evening news broadcasting of an intruder breaking into a dwelling, robbing, and killing an older man, including a woman, only to switch channels and see the news broadcasting that someone had killed their wife in cold blood, then later saints, the young executive picks up the newspaper and reads the headlines of a drive-by shooting that left an innocent bystander dead as he throws the paper aside thinking, where does it all end?
Beloved, the young man turns off the television as he looks at his wife and family, pondering the thought of what it must be like to be the Creator and witness all of this violence, thinking, what would he do if he were in God’s place and had to observe all this violence, thinking within himself, would not I be angry and send a judgment of correction to bring my creation back in line?
Beloved, the young executive gets up the following day, finishes his breakfast, kisses his wife and children, and then makes his way to the office for another busy day, but just as usual and correctly on time, he finds Noah, the righteous preacher, busy working on the Ark while attempting to preach a message of repentance that appears to be falling on deaf ears.
Beloved, the message and the messenger declaring a warning that judgment could near begin to take its toll on the young executive, causing his conscience to wake up with a warning that an impending judgment may be near, especially witnessing day after day the disrespect and mockery of people showing no respect for their elders or each. Until the stress begins to show up in his job performance.
Church, the young man now feels as though he cannot sit back and allow these belligerent-minded people to make fun of this older man who appears to believe the message that God is going to send a flood as an act of judgment to wipe everything living off the planet, because of a sinful world that seems to show no love for themselves neither their fellow man and especially their creator.
Beloved, the disrespect by this unfriendly mob that is shown toward this old man finally gets to this young executive until he makes a gesture to a close friend, informing him that he had been thinking of helping this old man work on his Ark to show respect for his elders which causes the friend to reply in a funny gesture that he would become the laughing stock of the office and would make headlines in the morning paper to which the young executive agrees with his friend and changes the conversation all the while not being able to quiet the echoing voice in the back of his mind that is tearing at his conscience saying “What if this old man is right”?
Church, the young executive, enters his home feeling like he has calmed the voice inside but makes the mistake of switching on the TV set to hear the reporter speak of a shooting in a movie theater that has left several dead and more than seventy wounded.
Beloved, the young executive quickly switches off the set, asking himself inside, ” What is this world coming to? Catching a glimpse of his young son playing with his cell phone, and then to the left of his son is his wife seated in her favorite chair smiling as she appears to be busy knitting a sweater.
Church, reality suddenly sets in on the young man, causing fear to grip his heart and awakening him to the fact that they are indeed living in a dangerous time. The thought came to him like an arrow shot out of a bow: "What about the safety of my family, and what if this old man is right?"
Beloved, the young man finally musters the nerve to inform his wife about the older man who is found every day near his workplace working on some boat that is larger than anything she could imagine, informing her that even the motel on the fifth street would not be long enough to be measured by it.
Beloved saints, the young man informs his wife that this old man with his sons are out there every day preaching of a coming judgment that would consist of a flood that is going to wipe humanity off the face of the Earth, to which his wife replies in a comical gesture that she has heard about the old man, stating that the news is all over town to which he replies “I thought of helping the old man out of respect for his age and the way he reminds me of my Grandfather, and even if he is wrong, nobody deserves to be treated the way the townspeople are treating him.”
Church, the young executive, had just lost his grandfather and could not brave the thought of people making fun of his grandfather the way people were making fun of this older man. Besides, even if his message was wrong, he deserved better than this.
Beloved, suddenly, his wife interrupted his chain of thought with a stern scolding, “If you were to do such a thing, I would lose my place at the bridge club, and your son would not be able to show his face ever again at their school."
Beloved, the young man wanting to calm the situation, quickly agreed with his wife as he called his boss asking for the next couple of days off, which he hoped would give him time to relax and rest his mind.
Church, after the young man's time off had expired, the young man started on his journey back to his place of employment, but this time, something was different from the other mornings, for the air was different, the wind had picked up, and the rain was starting to fall as if the sky was pouring its judgment upon an unfriendly world.
Beloved, scared out of his mind, the young man was met by a trusted friend who seemed startled and out of his mind, appearing to be rushing to get to higher ground.
Church, the friend, informed the young man that while he was off, strange things had taken place, such as animals coming out of the forest, seven of the clean and two of the unclean, as if guided by an unseen hand when suddenly the mind of the young executive flashed back to the messages of the older man, thinking could a creator have sent the messages preached by this older man all these years through this prophet of the coming judgment upon the world, but suddenly his friend interrupted his thoughts shaking him to reality, as his friend spoke of sheep walking beside dangerous lions entering the ark as if guided by some unseen hand.
Beloved, just before rushing off, the man's friend informed him of some news that would shake him to the core of his soul and haunt him forever as he informed him that just minutes before, the wind had picked up, and without any possible warning the door of the Ark had mysteriously shut as if some angry God had shut it.
Saints, the friend then informed the young man that as he was leaving, the water was rising to the point that people were screaming in terror as they were running everywhere in a state of confusion to get to higher ground while attempting to hold their children above their heads as if to prolong their life for a few more precious moments while losing their own.
Beloved, with this startling news, the young executive suddenly has a flashback of his wife and young son who would need his help, and quickly made a dart to run to their aide, to be by their side and do whatever he could do to get them to a place of safety, however, while running with all his might to get home and check on his family, the voice inside was speaking again this time louder than ever, "you should have heeded the warning of the old man and done whatever you had to do to get your family on the Ark of safety."
Beloved, the young executive, is now running for his life; the water has risen to the extent that he finds himself clinging to a log that is adrift in the deluge, realizing that all hope of saving his family is lost and just before he is swept under by a whirlpool that appears to come out of nowhere, the voice speaks once again, “why did you give in to the peer pressure of a society that cared for no one but their selfish desires and why did you not help God’s man work on the Ark?"
MY CONCLUSION
Dear reader, all you need to do is turn on the daily news to realize that we are living in a day when the love of many has waxed cold and to recognize the condition of our world today, all we need to do is go to a shopping center and observe how people walk around as if in a daze while treating their family like dirt and doing it in public with no shame or remorse.
Church, let's face the truth: the moral values of life in past generations have significantly declined, and in this crazed society where anything is okay as long as it does not offend someone, God is counting on us as his children to be an influence in this cruel, unforgiving world. We drastically need to influence the culture around us but, at the same time, not let the culture influence us.
Saints, the bottom line in this message today is for us to be ready, for the word states in (Matthew 24:44) in such an hour as we think not, the Son of man cometh.
Beloved reader, just as the young executive in this story and illustration in this timely message lost everything by trying not to offend anyone, let us not fall silent in our witness to please the crowd and be a watchman upon the wall sounding the alarm that the day of the Lord is near and who will be able to stand?
The ones who will be able to stand will be those who have made peace with God by accepting his free pardon from sin found only in the death, burial, and resurrection of his Son, Jesus Christ, the ark of our salvation.
Beloved, I preached this message in the yard of a former drug-addicted streetwalker named sister Gail back in 2010. Saints, I will never forget the message God gave me that day in her yard in the wrong area in Albemarle, North Carolina.
Beloved, Gail had been hooked on drugs and ended up in a hospital; however, by the province of God, a local pastor from the area who knew me called, informing me of her condition, causing me to send her through him, my famous book "18 Wheels and Jesus." Church, after reading my book, Sister Gail gave her heart to Jesus and started winning the respect of the drug dealers in the area, even leading people who were homeless, living in the woods with no hope of tomorrow to Jesus.
Sister Gail began distributing some of my books throughout the city, with many lives receiving hope and finding love they had never known existed.
Beloved, on that particular morning, all had gathered in her yard to serve as I preached this message or something like it on loudspeakers. Church, it is not unusual for shootings to happen every day in this city. Even to this day, in 2022, people and houses are still being shot up with drive-by shootings. Still, on this day in 2010, I noticed that people dressed as gang members were entering the yard shaking under the convicting hand of God, falling on their faces as the little boys inside them that they had built walls around were coming to Jesus.
Beloved Saints, there is a street behind her that is so dangerous that the US mail refused to service. These men had walked that dangerous street as if being led by an unseen hand to come to our meeting and fall on their faces, finding a God willing to forgive their sin and welcome them into his family.
Beloved after this, we licensed Sister Gail as a minister in Withered Hand, and several years later, we were blessed to grant her an ordination into the gospel ministry, where she remains active and faithful today in July of 2022.
Church, even as I write about this excellent move of God, which was birthed out of a message like this, sister Gail has moved back to Albemarle, North Carolina, with the same heart to win the lost at any cost preaching " O sinner, get in the ark of safety while there is still time." and beloved, I plan to write her book when I get time titled, "The life and times of the Street Preacher, Gail McSwain."
Beloved Saints and fellow peers, I hope you have enjoyed this message, and my prayer is that it will kindle a fire of revival within your heart to recognize and realize that the coming of the Lord is near; therefore, let us redeem the time working together in harmony as a unified body to reach the lost at any cost.
