Accuse you
Luke 6:7 “The scribes and the Pharisees were watching Him closely to see if He healed on the Sabbath, so that they might find reason to accuse Him.”
Jesus was focused on doing good, healing the sick and driving out demons but the wicked Pharisees were focused on finding reason to accuse Him. Look at that! Before I proceed further, I would like to point out how Jesus handled the accusers: Matthew 27:12 “And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He did not answer.” Did you see that? That’s exactly how we got to handle our accusers too, not easy though, with our emotions boiling inside; however, the words of Jesus is the healing balm for our soul.
After my salvation, I was closing down all worldly activities in my life: secular movies, secular books and so on, besides this, I was striving hard to get my crooked life straight, I was forgiving people, I was crucifying the proud spirit in me; however, the more I was making all efforts, something sinister was afoot, there were enormous number of hands pointing out and accusing me . As a toddler (20 years back) just learning to walk with Christ, I was not prepared to handle such savage accusations. Peter has a word of advice for us, let us read: 1 Peter 3:16 “and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are accused, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.” That’s it! Praise God! The young bride walks into her new home with great expectations but when the in-laws throw accusations at her, all the young girl needs is spiritual fortitude and intimacy with the Lord to combat such evil. Let us teach our daughters to pray. When the enemy lambasts us with false accusations and mocks at us, we need to close our doors and pray.
After distribution of food to the homeless on a Easter Sunday, I remember sharing the news with excitement with a person close to me, she replied with a smirk and scorn, ”what is the use of giving food for people who would throw it away anyway.” These words from someone close to me broke me; however, I quickly dusted the words off and got ready to again run for my God. Therefore, just because you are doing good, you will not always be appreciated, be ready for mockers and accusers who are plenty waiting with stones!!!!
Listen to me friend, ‘accusation’ is the devil’s strategy to sabotage our vision and cripple us; but we got to be overcomers. Hurray! Yesterday I read the words of Jesus that really excited me: Luke 6:22 "Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man. 23 "Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven..” Jesus said, ‘be glad and dance..” Do that and put the devil to shame instead of weeping! God bless you!
