I want to let you know that no matter what you are going through, that you can live victoriously through your praise. I think that I need to tell someone this morning that through your exhortation and through your praise that you can tear down the walls that satan has built.
I heard someone said when the saints go to worship that’s when deliverance will take place, and when the saints go up in praise that’s when all of satan’s powers are erased.
Now I understand the psalmist in Psalm 8 when he said Oh Lord our Lord how excellent is thy name in all the earth.
Because I don’t care where you go, and who you are there is no name more excellent than the Lord’s whereas you can praise.
And even if you wanted to use some other synonyms to call him, you can say, Oh Lord our Lord how great is your name, or Lord how splendid, how magnificent is thy name, how marvelous is thy name.
I know that some of you have been going through some tough times but you ought to be able to say that though it all I will bless the Lord at all times and his praises shall continually be in my mouth.
I know that some of you has been going through, but you ought to agree and say, through it all that I have been young and now I am old but I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread. Many of you can even praise God and say, no weapon that is formed against me shall prosper.
Some you may say pastor in 2020, and 21, I have seen some days that I thought that I wasn’t going to make it through, and now that I’m almost in the mist of 2022 and many of these days doesn’t seem to be any better.
But somebody in the room this morning ought to be able to say Yes, I have walked through the narrow gates of yesteryears, and I am in the middle of 2022 and headed towards 2023, but regardless of what-ever the devil had done, or has plan for me, I’m still going to enter his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise.
I know what the other years has held for me, but I have decided that even in the mist of it all I know that it is time for me to walk worthy in the vocation, the calling and the mission in which I am called for.
It’s time for me to walk in my purpose, It’s time for my destiny too manifest itself.
It’s time to be what GOD has called me to be.
It’s time for me to be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.
Somebody might say pastor that all good and fine, but why am I dealing with so much trouble? Why are the hellhounds on my tracks? Why does it seem like I’m taking two steps forward and nine steps backwards. Why does it seem like I’m losing my mind? I am here to let you know that the reason that you are going through like you are going through is because the intensity of your struggle is due to the magnitude of your anointing.
Yes you might be going through right now but you’ve got to know that the Lord will not put more on you that you can bear. And if you are dealing with a great struggle, then you ought break out with that old Baptist hymn that says.
Pass me not oh gentle savior, hear my humble cry while on others thou art calling please do not pass me by.
And Since you are already calling on others
Since you are already passing out deliverance
Since you are already passing out blessings
Since you are already passing out healing
God please remember everybody and don’t forget about me. (Pause)
I need to tell somebody that through your exhortation and through your praise you can tear down the walls that satan has built.
You see David knew something here, David knew that when he is going through that he needed to call on the name of the Lord. so, David began this psalm by magnifying the exalted name of the Lord. In Old Testament times, names represented character. Names were carefully selected, and they were often changed even in adulthood, when people’s lives were not accurately reflected in their given names.
And one of the ways God has revealed Himself is through His names. David exclaimed that the name of the Lord was excellent or majestic, and this word means wide, large, or broad.
So, David knew that he could get God’s attention. David began this psalm by simply uttering, “O Lord.” May I tell you that if you are going through, I dare you to just dry out ohhh Lord and praise him.
I need to share with somebody this morning and I know that this is not for everyone, but if you would just praise God this morning it will break down some barriers, knock down some obstacles, destroy some barricades and loosen some strongholds.
In order to get all that you can get out of your praise you need to learn that your praises is a loaded weapon, and just like there are different bullet to penetrate different obstacles, you must know that there are different praise ammunition for different demons. Well, someone might ask, Pastor what type of praise ammunition should I used?
Yes there are different types of Praise:
There Halal
Halal is the primary Hebrew root word for praise. This is where we get the word hallelujah from the base word Halal. It means "to be clear, to shine, to boast, show, to rave, to celebrate, too be clamorously (vociferously, vocally, and loudly foolish). This is why some people be screaming in church. This is why some of them be blaring with a ear-piercing sound, because they have got a holt of a good dose of Hala. And if you want a piece of this just shout Hala.
And then there is Yadah
Ps 63:5 says “Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift my hands in thy name” Yadah is a verb with a root meaning, which means the extended hand, to throw out the hand, therefore, it means to worship with extended hand." And I know that some people are too cute to lift their hands, and others are too mean to lift their hands, but for those of you that the Lord has done something for, you ought to extend your hands in praise. You ought to share with the world that God has been good to you.
Now there is a second meaning to Yadah, according to the Lexicon, it has the opposite meaning, which is "to bemoan, or wailing or crying with the wringing of the hands, with soaked and wet hands that are filled with tears. And some of you can relate to this kind of Yadah also, because some of you has had you’re your pillows wet with midnight tears, some of you has cried yourself to sleep, and others has stayed up all day just crying with your hands extended.
And then there is Shabach.
Shabach means, "too shout, to address in a loud tone, to command, to triumph." And I believe that we ought to practice that this morning, I think that we should shabach the Lord this morning. Well how do we do that Pastor? Well, if you know that he’s been good to you then let’s put Hala, lujah together and shout Hallelujah. If you know that he is a way maker shout hallelujah. If you know that he has turned things around on your behalf, shabach him by saying Hallelujah.
But then there is Barak and Barak means "to kneel down, to bless God as an act of adoration."
I don’t know if you are going to give a shabach praise, I don’t know if you are going to give a yadah praise, or a barak praise, but I do know that the bible says let everything that hath breath praise the Lord.
Why praise him doc? Well, because I feel that in this year of the Lord
God can turn your pressures into praise
God can to turn your doubting into shouting
God can turn you from being depressed to being blessed
God can turn your misery into ministry
God can turn your test into a testimony
God can turn your tragedy into triumph
God can turn your pain into gain.
God can turn your setback to a comeback
God can turn your despair into constant prayer
God can restore the years that the canker worm and the palmer worm destroyed
God can turn your sadness into gladness
God can turn your breakdown into breakthrough
God is going to turn you from imprisonment to deliverance
Tell your neighbor, that whatever you do, don’t forget that when praises go up – Blessings come down. Not only that, but tell them that the Bible tells us that God inhabits the praises of his people.
Although we walk in the flesh we don’t war against the flesh, our weapons are not of the flesh. Our praise is used for the destruction of fortresses, and it is used to destroy every lofty thing that rises against the knowledge of God.
Let me tell you a story about Paul and Silas, when they were locked up in jail, not only where they locked up, but there were locked up in the inner cell to make sure they couldn’t get out, they shackled their feet, and they had put stocks between their legs.
But then somewhere about midnight they began to pray and to praise God, and there was a great earthquake and the very foundation of the prison began to shake, rattle and roll. The prison doors came open and the shackles became loosed the stocks fell off.
So, when we praise God, doors can become open.
When we praise God, shackles can become loosed.
When we praise God, God can open blind eyes.
And he can make your enemies leave you alone.
For those that are seeking your deliverance and break through this morning, I challenge you to Praise GOD like you already have it.
We need a radical praise, we need a crazy praise,
Why should we praise him pastor well because some of us we need a yoke destroyed, somebody else need a burden lifting type of praise
And somebody ought to give him a (It’s already done type of praise).
Like GOD has already made a way out of no way type of praise.
I don’t really don’t mean to bother anybody this morning, or to pull you out of your comfort zone, but if you are ready to praise God tell your neighbor I don’t know what you going through but accuse me because : This Next Praise.
Next praise is for my family.
Next praise is for my life.
This next praise is for my job that I’ve been waiting on.
This next praise is for my health.
You ought to Praise the God for every mountain that he’s brought you over, for every trial his brought you through, for every blessing.
Come on and magnify the Lord with me let us exalt his name together.
Psalms 102 and 18 says that a generation of people shall be created to praise God. And I need to know are you a part of that generation?
Now I understand what the writer was talking about when he said Praise ye the LORD. (He’s telling us who to praise) and then he says Praise God in his sanctuary: (He’s telling where to praise him) praise him in the firmament of his power. In other words, praise him in the pheres, the atmosphere, the stratosphere, and the chemosphere 2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
He is worthy to be praised.
I praise him because I’ve seen the lightning flashing; and I’ve heard the thunder roll.
I’ve felt sin’s breakers dashing, which almost conquered my soul.
I’ve heard the voice of my Savior, bidding me still to fight on. He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone! That’s why I praise him.
I praise him because when the world’s fierce winds are blowing, and temptation is sharp and keen.
Even though all around me is darkness, earthly joys are all flown away; my Savior promise me that he will never to leave me alone.
I praise him because He died for me.
I praise him because faithfulness is great.
Despite all of my calamities, I’m going to praise him.
Pastor I’ve got a question for you. How do you praise when you’re hurt?
How do you preach when you’re broken
How do you smile when you’re sad
How do you waive your hands with no money in your pocket
How can you dance when you’re sick in your body.
Well, I praise him by standing on the promises, and I,I,I,I,I,I,I,I,I, believe he’ll do just what he said.
My weapon of choice Praise.
David opens up with: O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
And then David closes with: O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
That tell me that I should wait up with Jesus on my mind, and I should go to bed with Jesus on my mind!
