Summary: It has often been said that the mindset of every living individual emit vibrations that are totally distinctive to them.

Ephesians 6:10-14 reminds us: "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness."

It has often been said that the mindset of every living individual emit vibrations that are totally distinctive to them. Romans 8:5-6 advises: “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”

One of the annotations of vibration is a person's emotional state, the general atmosphere of a place or the associations of an object as communicated to and felt by others. Although the findings have yet to be confirmed, it has been claimed by vibrational energy experts that certain emotions and thought patterns can create high-intensity vibrations which may be transmitted to others. These can include feelings related to happiness, tranquillity, compassion, jubilation and the like. If a person is found to be displaying any of these attitudes or emotions, then a significant chance of deflecting the same onto another in the near vicinity may occur. It could be equated to laughter, which is known to be contagious.

There is an ancient Latin saying that states: “Laugh and the world laughs with you.” The saying concludes with the words: “Weep and the world weeps with you.” Our brain often react to sounds transmitted by others. If two people are laughing infectiously at something another personally knows nothing about, then there is still a good chance that one may join in even if they don’t understand the reason why. Happiness could be said to exude happiness. The more you experience, the more you create. It is described as a positive emotion that could be said to satisfy life. A prevalent feeling of contentment may exist. A life may feel fulfilled and joy will form a major substance within it.

Thoughts provide possibilities and a future. If they are formed with clarity, with the assistance of God, wisdom may reign. Proverbs 3:13-18 states: "Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace." However, Proverbs 14:13 warns: "Even in laughter the heart may ache, and the end of joy may be grief.”

Facial expressions and stances may also invoke the right or wrong vibrations in others. Negativity can be passed on to society if one consistently walks around with a glum or disdainful look. The way we speak is another way to emit the right or wrong vibrations. If we only ever consider the negative side of life, we can only produce negative thinking with a negative result. If we are positive in thought we can be positive in body. With the right thinking, we can actually change a negative situation into a positive one. Philippians 4:8 reminds us: “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

Other emotions or psyches which may include anger, desperation, sorrow, frustration or fear may equally be transmitted to another with a similar effect. 1 Corinthians 12:6 confirms: “And there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.”

Every person’s period of existence is individualistic and perceived in one’s own special way. Erik Pevernagie, a Belgian painter and writer once remarked: “If we only live through the eyes of the others and don’t try to capture the vibration of our own individual experience, we may miss out the beam and brilliance of authenticity that is essential to move forward in life.”

A story is told of a person who always thought of life with a negative frame of mind. He could not see the good in anyone or anything, no matter what achievements had been attained. His words were usually full of criticism. Forgiveness never entered his heart. He lived a negative life without any compassion for others. He often doubted anything anyone said or claimed to be true. Colossians 3:12-13 reminds us: “Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.”

On a particular day, he purchased a new car that had been claimed by the manufacturer to achieve a maximum speed of one hundred and forty miles an hour. He decided to put this claim to the test and drove to a motorway to establish if the claim was in fact true. He selected a quiet spot and pressed his foot down on the accelerator. However, no matter how hard he depressed the pedal, he was unable to reach the professed speed and became very frustrated at the failure.

After ten minutes of driving, he noticed a police car behind him with a flashing blue light. The police car was very powerful and was catching up to him very quickly. He was pulled over to the hard shoulder and two police officers got out of their vehicle. They approached the speeding driver and asked him if he realised the speed he was doing? The man replied, "Yes officer, but the manufacturers of this car claim that it will do 140 MPH, all I could get was 130 MPH which is ten miles an hour lower!" An officer responded, "Do you realise sir that you have committed an offence by driving at that speed?" The man responded: "Yes officer, but if I don't try to achieve the claimed speed how can I check if it is true or not?" The officer responded: “I am sorry sir but you have committed an offence and I have to arrest you.” The following day the man appeared in court and pleaded guilty to the charge of speeding. The magistrate, after hearing the evidence, fined him £800 and issued him with six penalty points on his license.

The man became depressed and decided to go into a pub for a drink to drown his sorrows. A stranger approached him and asked: “You look pretty glum mate, what’s the problem?” The man retorted: “I have been fined £800 in court for speeding and received six penalty points on my license. But what hurt me most was the fact that the magistrate never showed any compassion when he passed sentence! His face was stern and he didn’t flinch as he handed out my penalty.” The listener replied: “Never mind mate, it could have been far worse. I consider that you were dealt with extremely leniently. A friend of mine was fined £1200 and was disqualified for a period of a three months for doing 120 MPH on the same motorway six months ago. Compassion breeds compassion, if you have never propagated it, you may never understand or realise it when it comes your way and stares you in the face.” Ephesians 4:32 confirms: “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

Amen.
