One of the greatest benefits of preaching the Word of God is, if I say what he says, I'm never wrong. Dr. Mike Murdock says... I'm never wrong when I quote God.
In the last few days there's been a phrase that has been going over in my mind. I'm very well aware of where it came from. It is the phrase, who is on the Lord's side?
As I said I know exactly where it came from. The setting was when Aaron had led the children of Israel to worship a golden calf.
This is how it goes...
Exodus 32:22-25 And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief. [23] For they said unto me, make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. [24] And I said unto them, whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf. [25] And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)
That's when Moses made a statement... He said, who is on the Lord's side, let him come unto me?
Now friend, this is the point that I want to make right now. When Moses made that statement... Who is on the Lord's side? He wasn't just asking for a show of hands.
This was a matter of life and death. What he was doing was calling for separation. He was calling for clear distinction between the factions. And he was giving everyone an opportunity for decision.
You see Israel had committed idolatry, which is spiritual adultery. And God was giving them a chance to forsake their sin, and turn back to Him.
The fact is every one of us have to make this decision... whose side are you on?
The sad truth is, for much too long it's been difficult to tell which side many are on.
We have been through some very difficult times in the United States of America, and around the world. And like you, I have not enjoyed it at all. But I have to say that I am finally beginning to see the hand of God behind it.
God's desire is to save America, and all nations of the world that will turn to him. So God has allowed America and the world, to go into the ringer. To be squeezed, to be spun, to be rung out. For the purpose of separation, distinction, clarity, of who's side you're on.
Going back to our text, I want you to see how severe this matter was in the sight of God...
Exodus 32:26-28 Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. [27] And he said unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour. [28] And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.
This is how real this issue is to God. You can't have two gods. God said you shall have no other gods before me.
This mixture was deadly, and it had to be removed. What has been happening in this nation and around the world is this... God is identifying the poisonous mixture that has got into the church, that has taken the hearts of men and women away from God, and set before them other gods.
It is almost beyond the reach of the imagination to think that God would deal so severely with his own people. But when the disease is severe, the cure must be severe.
The point is, God was showing us separation. He was showing us the intensity of his love for us, and his unwillingness to share our hearts with other Gods.
To take the Lord's side is not a small issue. To take the Lord's side, puts you at oughts with the world. There may be thousands of different religions in the world, but the simple truth is, everything falls into one of two categories... you're either on the Lord's side, or you're on the enemies side.
In other words, you're either in the Lord's camp, and you're for the Lord. Or you're in the enemy's camp and you're for the enemy.
You may be a rhino in the Lord's camp, and you may look the part and sound the part, but God knows the heart.
The Bible says... Nevertheless foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, the Lord knoweth them that are his. And let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 2 Timothy 2:19
We don't hear a lot of preaching like this nowadays, but the fact is, there is a heaven, and there is a hell, and everyone will spend eternity in either heaven or hell.
Friends this is what I believe with all my heart... God is clearing the ground right now for the greatest outpouring of his Spirit the world has ever seen. But to create the right environment for this visitation, the preparation must be thorough.
It seems like we have a large segment of the church today that doesn't stand against anything.
It's almost like the church is just a good Ole boys club, and everybody can join.
But I have to tell you the truth, you can't join this club, because it's not a club, it's a family, and you must be born into it. You must be born again. And when you're born again, you come out of the darkness. And when you are a child of the light you don't like the dark anymore.
That's what Paul meant when he said... And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Ephesians 5:11
As a preacher of the gospel, and especially one who preaches prophetically, sometimes my message is harder than other times. But I have to accept each assignment with the same attitude of gratitude and thankfulness, that God would choose me, and use me to speak for him.
So freinds, we're living in a world right now where anything goes. There are no boundries of decency and honor anymore. But that's not the most difficult thing though. The most difficult thing is... that that very same attitude has snaked it's way into the church, and into many pulpits.
The one unmistakeable identifying characteristic of this spirit is... there is nothing wrong. It's like there is this new gospel of relativity, that determines right or wrong on the basis of whether you think it's right or wrong for you. So based on that, very rarely does anyone condemn himself or herself for their own sinful lusts and desires.
The problem is... this ideology is straight out of hell, and will take you straight to hell. Sin is sin, whether you think it is or not.
We are not saved from sin then left to ourselves to choose our own happy path in life, wherever it may take us. We are saved from sin, to live righteously, soberly, holy, and godly.
Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.
Dear friend, when you stand with Jesus that's a big deal. Probably bigger than most people want to admit.
Because when you choose the Lord's side, you are now standing directly opposed to everything God hates.
Sadly the attitude in many churches today is, we don't need to be against anything. We just have to love, love, love.
Some people will accuse me of preaching condemnation, but I'm preaching to you New Testament, sound doctrine, that will deliver your soul from hell.
Paul speaking by the Holy Ghost, didn't say, you can live anyway you want, as long as you smear the love on real heavy.
Let's see what he did say...
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, [10] Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Then look at these verses...
Ga. 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
For some reason the Holy Spirit knew there would come a time, when the people of God would have to decide which side they were on. And the Holy Spirit knew this worldly, all inclusive demon spirit would come slithering into the church, to try and convince people that they could live any kind of sinful, sloppy, perverse life they wanted, and still go to heaven.
So the Holy Spirit threw up this stop sign. And he said to his ministers. Don't let my people be deceived. Don't beat them over the head with this. But when you see this cropping up... cut it off.
As I have been waiting on the Lord, this is the word I keep hearing in my Spirit. He is saying the same thing Joshua told the Israelites just before God manifested his glory.
Joshua 3:5 And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the LORD will do wonders among you.
That word "sanctify" means separate, consecrate, devote. It means to hallow, and set-apart for the purposes of God. It means to remove anything that is sinful, or offensive to God.
I know this message has a sharp edge to it, but it because what God is getting ready to do, is going to be so pure and so glorious, that only those who have prepared themselves, are going flow with it.
And God is moving quickly to get a people ready, to flow with him.
And the great danger is going to be... that this move of the glory of God is going to be so pure, and so powerful, that people who refused to separate from their sins, will die with their sins, like Ananias, and Saphira.
That's why the mercy of God is crying out today... Who is on the Lord's side?
We've got people today who have bought the lie that love covers all sin, like love is a blanket that sin is comfortable under.
That's why we have professing Christians and even pastors who are all inclusive now. They no longer call adultery or fornication sin. And they no longer see anything wrong with homosexuallity, and lesbianism, and transgenderism. And abortion is no longer murder, it's just a choice. And Marijuana is now as acceptable as Bayer aspirin. Drunkenness, gambling, stealing, lying, and slander, no longer mean anything to them.
I don't like to be the heavy but somebody has to tell the truth.
You can ignore God, but he isn't going away. And you can pretend his laws aren't true, and there's no consequences to sin. But it isn't going to make hell disappear.
God is going to hold these liars responsible for the way they have deceived his people.
And I wouldn't want to be in their shoes for all the gold in Fort Knox.
The wages of sin is death.
The soul that sinneth it shall die.
I believe in this next move of the glory of God, many of these spiritual Rhinos, who are in pulpits, but they are preaching hells message. I believe many of them are going to die. Some will die in the pulpit, because this glory is too pure for them, because their hearts are perverted.
But it will not hinder the move of God, it will only increase the fire.
But God is giving us the privilege right now of getting clean. Getting anything out of our hearts and lives that is offensive to the Holy Spirit.
And getting ready to flow with this glory wave that is sweeping the earth. It has already started.
All through the Bible, before God manifested his great glory, he would send a warning for his people to get themselves ready, so that his glory wouldn't kill them.
I believe that is happening again. I believe the Holy Spirit is sounding the alarm. Glory is coming, get right with God.
Exodus 19:10-11 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes, [11] And be ready against the third day: for the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.
God told Moses, I'm coming down there. Which means to say that God is coming close. So God sends advance warning... get yourself ready. Get rid of sin. We know that no one can save themselves from sin, but you can sanctify yourselves from sin. It's a choice.
2Co 6:17-18... Wherefore come out from among them and be ye separate saith the Lord. Touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you unto myself, and I will be a father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Who is on the Lord's side?
