TEXT: Matthew 13:1-9
1 ¶ On the same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea.
2 And great multitudes were gathered together to Him, so that He got into a boat and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
3 Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: "Behold, a sower went out to sow.
4 "And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them.
5 "Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth.
6 "But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away.
7 "And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them.
8 "But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
9 "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"
TOPIC: Your Seed Will Take Care of Your Need
To understanding seeds, we must go back to the Genesis of Time. As God created the heavens and the earth, he did something extraordinary. Inside of his creation, he put seeds that would perpetuate more of themselves.
Genesis 1:11 Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so.
After God created man and woman, he said in Gen 1:28 And God blessed them: and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. God only created one man and one woman. Today we have nearly 7.5 billon people on the earth. What happened? They produced after their own kind by using the seed inside of them.
It is God’s will for us to have increase! God planted one set of trees and today we have some 3 trillion of trees in the world. How? The increase was in their seed.
God spoke one time and created fish. Today we have some 3.5 trillion fish. There are some 50 billion birds today.
He told them to multiply with the seed he put inside of them. The increase was in their seed.
Can I help somebody? Your increase is in your seed!!! God is not going come down everything you need something, He told me to tell you, the increase is in your seed. Did you know if people stop having babies today, in about 100 years, the entire population would be dead!!!
We should plan, plant and prep for our future but remember it’s God that gives the increase. 1Cor, 3:7 says So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. IOW, we should plant, water and fertilize the seed but God gives the increase!!
Whatever seeds God placed inside of you; He expects you to use it so he can increase it!! Whatever gifts you have, God expects you to use it and multiply it Why is important? Your seed is design to take care of your need.
Proverbs 18:16 says A man's gift maketh room for him, And bringeth him before great men. When we take care of our seed by watering and fertilizing it, eventually it will take care of us!! This is why Satan wants to destroy your seed. God sends our increase from the seed inside of us!!!
Matthew 13:3 Then [Jesus] spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow.
4 “And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them.
The seeds which fell by the wayside represent those who hear the message of the kingdom but they don’t understand it. Then the evil one comes and snatches away the seed that was planted in their heart.
Notice they heard the Word of God, and the seed was planted into their hearts but because they didn’t understand it, it was easy to be taken away from them. They didn’t hold it tightly. Whatever you treasure, you will hold it tightly. Things you do not value you will leave it laying around for someone to snatch away from you. DON’T ALLOW THE ENEMY TO SNATCH AWAY YOUR SEED! Why? Your blessing is in the SEED. Your Seed Will Take Care of Your Need!
Verse 5 “Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth.
6 “But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away.
The seeds that fell on stony places represent those who hear the Word and immediately receive it with joy! But since they don’t have deep roots, it doesn’t last. They fall away as soon as they have problems or persecutions.
Notice, they heard the Word, the seeds were planted and they even responded with joy. Trouble has a way of showing us what we are made of. We tend to shout, sing and dance when everything is going well but what happens when we go through the storms of life, having problems or we are persecuted? Can we still sing, shout and dance or do we allow our problems to be scorched by the heat of the headache and heartache?
Brothers and Sisters, don’t allow problems and difficulties to rob you of your SEED. Everything that you need from God is hidden in your SEED. Your Seed Will Take Care of Your Need!
Verse 7 “And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them.
IOW, The seed that fell among the thorns represent those who hear God’s word, but the message is crowded out by the worries of life and the lure of wealth.
These are sometimes called distractors. LIFE HAPPENS! There are many things we worry about. We worry about our jobs, finances, future and health. We worry about COVID 19, death, and many other things.
1 Peter 5:7 says that when you start to worry, you can “Cast all our cares on him for he cares for you.”
Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us to Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
IOW, we can throw our care on Jesus because he cares for us. We may be concerned but we should not worry for nothing. All we have to do is take it to the LORD in prayer. Tell him all about it. And the peace of God which provide us understanding, that surpasses all understanding will reveal to you that your seed will take care of your need. This is why it says, God’s peace with understanding will protect your hearts and minds (that’s where the seed is) through Christ Jesus!
James Allen said “Adversity does not build character, it reveals it”. When adversity comes, when trouble stops by your house, pay close attention to what you say and what you do because God uses trouble to show us who we really are.
Finally, Jesus says in verses 8-9 “But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. 9 “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
Let me help somebody today!! Planting is destiny concealed; Increase is destiny revealed. Both are part of our destiny. If you are not willing to be concealed, then you are ready to be revealed!! If you are not ready to die; you are not ready to live. Unless you are willing to go down, you will not appreciate going up!!
The seeds that fell on ground represents those who heard the WOG and understood it. What did they understand? One of the operations of the Word of God is to put the flesh to death; destroy that old man, old desires and fleshly lust.
God wanted me to remind somebody that even though you have been through some dark days where you couldn’t see your way, somebody threw some dirt on top of you, but remember, you’ve planted and not buried. Don’t get it twisted!!! Don’t bury what you should plant and don’t plant what you should bury!!! Tell somebody, I have not been buried; I have been planted!!!! Things which are planted have a destiny. It has an expected end. It has a future. It will not come up the way it went down. It will have increase!
Good ground represents those who heard the word, understood the word and allowed the word to take deep root in their hearts. Notice, that every seed sown in good ground produced fruit. Some 100-fold; some 60-fold and some 30-fold. Don’t worry about what someone else is producing; do what you are supposed to do and God will bless you!!!
God gives every man according to his ability and capacity to produce. He gave some five talents, some 2 and others 1 talent. It’s not the number of crops you produce, it’s the capacity you have to produce. If you only have the capacity for 60% and you produce 60%, then one day you will hear God say, "Well done". If you can only produce 30%, then "Well done". For those who have the capacity for more, 70,80, 90 or 100%, then remember, to whom much is given, much is required. Take Care of your Seed! Because when the increase comes, your Seed Will Take Care of your need!
PRAYER - Dear Jesus, we are so grateful and humbled that you entrusted us to take care of the seeds you placed inside of us back in eternity. We ask for forgiveness for our ungratefulness and complaints about our small seeds. We realize that the biggest trees, animals, humans and great works of art, began in seed form. So, cause us to be thankful for our seeds and nurture and take care of them so one day they will take care of us. In Jesus name, AMEN
