God,the eternal, all knowing and ever present one. The Father, the Son and Spirit, ?the three are one. One God who is spirit.
Only God can create something out of nothing. Before He created, He already knew humanity would give power to their selfish desires and activate evil into His perfect world. God knew they would become trapped in the very thing that they thought they could control.
As a result of their choice to become one with both good and evil, in shame they would run away from God.
As God’s desire is for them to be at rest and peace with Him, He would pursue them in love, stitch clothes for them and cover their shame. He did everything for them, to be at rest with Him and receive His eternal forgiveness that is always there for them.
Even before God created He knew that in a moment of time in human history, He would become one of us. Come down from heaven to earth and cloth Himself in humanity. In His selfless eternal act of love and sacrifice towards humanity, God would take away our shame and pay the cost for us. Because God ?so loves, and His heart’s desire is toward us, He willing chose to do all this, to set humanity free.
So it is was in that moment in human history, when the Eternal Word became one of us, that we celebrate as Christmas.
John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was ?in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that ?was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
When God speaks it is so. His words are light and life, revelation and salvation. All things were made through Him and by Him, for He is the creator God.
He is the divine light of all humanity and the Lord of everyone’s destiny. The Eternal Word, who is light ?and life stepped down into our darkness.
Darkness is the absence of light. In the beginning before the Eternal voice spoke light into existence, ?there was the darkness over the face of the deep. Then God said, ‘Let there be light and there was light.’ The darkness was pushed back and can never overcome the light. The destructive forces of evil, death ?and selfish desires cannot overcome the light. For the light is always stronger, victorious and glorious.
To those who accept the Eternal Word who is light and life, become children of the light and receive life everlasting. Just as creation of light was the beginning of filling the earth with all God’s goodness and life, when humanity receives the light, we undergo a spiritual birth and become a new creation. We inherit eternal life.
Life eternal is in Him, for He is the Eternal Word. Through Him all things were created and given life. He is the source of life, for He is life itself.
He is the Eternal Word who became one of us.
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
The writer John testifies that the Eternal Word, while He walked the earth and a man, revealed both the glory and heart of God the Father.
In becoming one of us, He was God’s ultimate expression of Himself and His great love for us.
Yes the Eternal Word became one of us. He not only became one of us, but he made His home amongst us. He left His home in heaven, from the heart of God the Father and came down to where we are at, and made His home with us.
He gave up everything to be so intimate and personal with us that He lived in the tent of a human body.
The Eternal Word who is light and life, became one of us was full of grace and truth.
This grace and truth is the glory of God’s goodness, His love, His faithfulness, in fact all His characteristics. It is because of God’s character, because He so love that He gives all of Himself to humanity. Even those who He knew would reject Him and chose an eternal destiny of darkness, death and torment, forever away from Him, He came to, full of grace and truth.
___________________?From the heart of God the Father, came the Eternal Word, the Son of God, ?the very essence of God, to dwell in the heart of all who will receive Him.?___________________
God the shares all His glory with us.
John 1:16-18 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
The Eternal Word who became one of us, is not only God with us, but is God in us. For as many who have received Him, our earthly tents, that is our physical bodies, become the dwelling place for God’s glory. ?The same glory that the Eternal Word, Jesus the Son’s physical body housed.
Receiving God’s endless supply of His glory, that the writer declares is grace for grace, is a daily journey. That is each day is a new day to know Him more and receive a greater revelation of His love, truth and power. That is grace upon grace, upon grace.
God’s grace and truth, His glory, His character, is eternal. Since the beginning, God has been continually pursing humanity in love. He gave all of Himself to us. His perfect creation, His identity, His dominion, ?His blessing and His honour. He did it all because He so loves.
To a people group who cried out to Him to deliver them, He delivered them. Even knowing they would subsequently turn their back on Him in secret and give their allegiance to other gods, He continually pursued them in love.
God spoke to them in ways they would understand. They pridefully boasted they could do everything He said, yet they were trapped in the lies and destructive forces of their selfish desires. So through His prophet Moses, God gave them the law. It was a gift to them, to reveal His amazing grace and heart’s desire toward them. They needed to know their need for a saviour and be free of the destructive forces of their selfish desire and evil. He shone His light into their darkness, and urged them to choose life over death, truth over lies, goodness over evil.
However they continued to choose to go their own way and turn away from Him. Yet God, the source of all things good, still loved them and desired for them to know His heart and the truth about Him.
So from their own tribes He sent His prophets. Those individuals who knew Him, walked with Him and gave their allegiance to Him - to speak on His behalf.
Both the law and the prophets testified of His Eternal Word, who would come into our world and deliver ?all people. They anticipated His coming. Whilst the law was given to Moses, grace upon grace came to us in Jesus.
The fullness of God and His Eternal Word became one of us.
The Eternal Word who became one of us, lived, died, rose and ascended on high. He brings light and life, grace and truth and is the full completion of the scriptures.
He suffered so we can be set free from the destructive forces of our selfish desires. Be set free from being held captive to our brokenness, destined for eternal death, judgement and shame.
Yes Jesus is the Eternal Word who became one of us. He suffered to set us free. Grace upon grace, upon grace. From creation, to the law and the prophets He has fulfilled it all.
For a greater revelation of this please listen to our podcast, The Eternal Voice, The law and The Prophets.
The Eternal Word, is so intimate with the Father. Who in being, character and knowledge is the very essence of God. Father, Son and Spirit created. In the bosom of the Father, the Eternal Word in the beginning was with God. In the beginning the Eternal Word was God.
He is the unique one, the only begotten Son, the one and only, the Eternal Word who became one of us. Jesus was not born of the corrupted seed of humanity, but the Spirit of God. He was born in human form ?as a baby of a woman, experienced the full human condition and revealed Father God to us.
In Jesus the Eternal Word and Son of God, He is the visible expression of God. The unseen become seen ?in an intimate and personal way. The Eternal Word became one of us and dwelt amongst us.
The Apostle John continues to testify of this incredible moment in time.
1 John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life— the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us— that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.
The Apostles who did life with Eternal Word who became one of us bear witness of Him. The Son of God, the Eternal Word of life and light, came in grace and truth, from the heart of the Father. He came so that our joy will be full, knowing and receiving His joy over us and in us.
Where we are part of God’s love story. Having received the same intimate, perfect love relationship with God the Father and Jesus the Son. Where we are a child of God, born of Spirit, at home with Him and ?He with us.
John 1:12-13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, ?but of God.
The Eternal Word became one of us. He gives life and is life itself. He reveals the truth and is the truth. ?He speaks the Word and is the Word. The Eternal Word who is light and life became one of us came ?in grace and truth.
God the Father, through the Jesus the Son, provided His grace and truth, light and life to us.
So as we celebrate the first Christmas, when the Eternal Word became one of us, by His Spirit leading ?us into all truth, may we receive a greater revelation of who He is and what He has done for us. May we understand the enormous cost and value that God has placed on us and His heart’s desire for us.
The Eternal Word is now in His resurrected glorified human body at the right hand of our Father in heaven. He is coming back for us and will fulfil all His promises. The Eternal Word who is light and life, grace and truth, is faithful and true.
Revelation 19:11-16 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
