Daniel 6: 3-5 KJV
3 Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him...
4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; for as much as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel...
The Book of Daniel is a 2nd-century BCE biblical apocalypse with a 6th century BCE setting.
Daniel was approximately 17 or 18 when he was carried away into captivity and roughly 70 when he was thrown into the lion's den.
Babylon was a land in which life was overshadowed by a vast idolatry.
It was this idolatry which Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego resisted at the risk of their lives.
In Babylonian religion, the ritual care and worship of the statues of deities were considered sacred; the gods lived simultaneously in their statues in temples and in the natural forces they embodied.
Daniel's era was synonymous to what is obtainable today, in our vast decaying world. He contended amidst the 70 years captivity in a strange land, yet stood for his uncompromising conviction about his God.
His righteous life was clear, obvious, open, transparent and can be testified to, in the public and private. Daniel lived out his godly conviction and was no ashame to suffer any setbacks, confrontations, persecutions, ridicules, from the ungodly. He was upfront, clear, focus, about his faith. He wasn't manipulative, political and frail about it.
Daniel's life was full of godly virtues, transparent christian living, godly life in #Babylon and in the palace. Daniel withstood quite a number of sharp oppositions and defended his faith.
We need Daniel whose life, character is not questionable, doubtful.
Daniel had gone to glory now, but we need more Daniels.
As several acclaimed #Christians are awashed in compromises, lethargy, & indifference today, the call to holiness and godliness is seriously rubbished & tainted as many so called Christians bring shame to the glory of God in the workplace, marriage, community
God needs us to stand with backbone as #christians, as we carry out our legitimate secular activities in our business, community, family and personal life. Daniel knew he would not be loved by all and was ready to pay the price.
#God is looking for a Daniel that will shun workplace politics and corruptions. God needs a Daniel whose dress sense and appearances are fashioned after godly principle. God needs a Daniel whose musics, languages, and dancings remain as godly as Jesus would want it. God needs a Daniel who will not support lies on financial statements and transaction irregularities. God needs a Daniel who would not make exra money on ignorant customers; God needs a #Daniel who would state it as it is not minding the persecutions, losses that will greet such decisions.
God bless.
