SPIRITUAL GROWTH ENHANCERS
Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28 NLT
THERE IS NO REASON TO BE AFRAID
You have no reason to be afraid of anyone. No satanic agent from the pit of hell can stop you in the process of carrying out your divine assignment on earth. You are completely unstoppable.
You have no reason to fear, neither have you any reason to be afraid of them.
This verse gives us confidence amid political chaos, economic crises bloody folks, black magic, a viral outbreak, and a broken world to stand strong.
This passage makes ?us secure, encouraged, and confident of God' Father’s great love.
Some people try to stop us from achieving our God-given goals as well as impede us from doing the Lord's work. Some even go to the extent of trying to kill us in the process through spiritual mediums.
We also receive hatred, verbal and physical attacks.
Let me lead you to the context of the verse: The disciples are about to go and preach the good news (gospel) of Jesus Christ and will likely face persecution from the religious leaders and lawmakers.
Jesus faced tough opposition from the Pharisees, the Scribes and the Sadducees during His earthly ministry. He was seriously opposed and hated by these sects of people including the chief priests. These were the sect of people who plotted for the death of Jesus for claiming to be the Son of God.
Christ's disciples are about to take up the gospel mandate from Jesus where they will spread the gospel amid the same sect of people that plotted Jesus' death.
Jesus encouraged His disciples not to fear these evil people in society who may definitely try to oppose them and plot their death as well.
Jesus was telling them that He is the resurrection and the life.
We live in a world enslaved to fear. Jesus came to set us free from the fear of death and every other fear (Heb 2:15)
No matter what is happening and what happens with the Coronavirus, place your full trust and hope in the Lord your God and your eternal home.
When you set apart Christ as “Lord” you are literally saying Jesus is the ultimate power and authority. You are saying he is the kurios, the supreme ruler, and the final word on every subject.
When fear comes to you, perhaps in the form of opposition or a bad doctor’s report, this is the time to set apart Christ as Lord. This is the time to speak to your fears about the One who is above all and at whose name every knee will bow.
