The average American home is is crisis! The "National Review" calls it a "Permanent Family Crisis". In 2004, A famous America Comedian expressed his concern about the African American Family in front of the NAACP with a speech that ignited a firestorm.
Let me give you a small quote from his speech.
What a Famous American Comedian said About Fatherlessness:
[I]n our cities and public schools we have 50 percent drop out. In our own neighborhood, we have men in prison. No longer is a person embarrassed because they’re pregnant without a husband. No longer is a boy considered an embarrassment if he tries to run away from being the father of the unmarried child.
Ladies and gentlemen, the lower economic and lower middle economic people are not holding their end in this deal. In the neighborhood that most of us grew up in, parenting is not going on. In the old days, you couldn’t hooky school because every drawn shade was an eye. And before your mother got off the bus and to the house, she knew exactly where you had gone, who had gone into the house, and where you got on whatever you had on and where you got it from. Parents don’t know that today.
I’m talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit. Where were you when he was two? Tell him. Where were you when he was twelve? Can you honestly say. Where were you when he was eighteen, and how come you don’t know he had a pistol? And where is his father. Why don’t you know where he is? And why doesn’t the father show up to talk to this boy?
And it is not just the African American Community anymore. Fifty four years after the civil rights revolution and the evidence is damaging. In 2017, 72 percent of black babies and 29 percent of white babies were born out of wedlock. Let's take a look at the stats:
Scary Numbers about Fatherlessness
90 percent of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes.
85 percent of all children who exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes.
75 percent of all adolescent patients in chemical-abuse centers come from fatherless homes.
71 percent of all high-school dropouts come from fatherless homes.
70 percent of juveniles in state-operated institutions come from fatherless homes.
63 percent of youth suicides are from fatherless homes.
Small Nation Review pits it this way:
"These statistics are staggering. Not so long ago, they would have been intolerable. But no longer. Five
decades of government-sponsored dependence has desensitized us to the enormity of the problem. Today, such devastation is the status quo, protected by a progressive intelligentsia intent on expanding the welfare state and a politically correct elite wholly engaged in explaining away the whys and wherefores of family disintegration rather than putting a stop to the damage."
Men of Steel
How are we going to reverse this damaging trend that is destroying our Families? What is the solution? More welfare? Absolutely not! Welfare is making it worse. The family is being destroyed and this is alarming because "As the Family goes, so goes the Nation". So what do we need to do?
We need to train men (Manly Training Ministries) and equip men to teach more men just what it takes to really be a man. We must understand how God designed men and then teach this to other men who will pass it along to the next generation. What we need in today's America are Men of Steel. Now go ... and be a man!
