God’s Spirit is wounded
Isaiah 63: 8For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour.
9In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
10But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.
In Hebrew said it mint {they inflicted wounds. } God’s Spirit has been wounded.
(1) Mystery of the Spirit of God.
Both old & new Testaments set forth the Trinity of God.
From the beginning we have come face to face with the facts.
The trinity Creator-father is God.
The redeeming Son is God
The empowering Holy Spirit is God.
This is simple unity..
With us one person man or one woman.
With God 3 persons one God.
That’s the mystery.
(2) Bad manners of people of God.
1 Samuel 15: 21But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal.
22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
23For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
24And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
We find here the offence of rebellion Ver.10
In spite of what God had done for them.
The faithfulness of the Holy Spirit.
Rebellion witchcraft---Stubbornness ----Iniquity ----Idolatry
Bad manners will get you know where.
(3) Blighting ministry of God’s love.
Ver.10: 10But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.
Things happen to us –So severe—so cruel --- we think it so bad.
You ask what in the world.
God’s love is seeking to wake us up.
(4) Boundless of God’s mercy an grace and his promises.
Isaiah 63: 7I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.

He prepares us to face our sins
To confess them to him.
The Lord granted us mercy
The Lord give grace to remove it.
Out of God’s love for us he prepared us to confess.
Receive life eternal.
