1 Lord, you have ·examined [investigated; searched] me
and know all about me.
2 You know when I sit down and when I ·get up [rise].
You ·know [understand] my thoughts ·before I think them [L?from afar].
3 You ·know [L?measure] ·where I go [L?my path] and ·where I lie down [L?my lying down].
You ·know [are familiar with] ·everything I do [L?all my path].
4 Lord, even ·before I say a word [L?when no word is on my tongue],
you already know ·it [L?all of it].
5 You ·are all around me [L?hem me in]—in front and in back—
and have put your hand on me.
6 Your knowledge is ·amazing [wonderful; or overwhelming] to me;
it is ·more than I can understand [too high/unattainable. I am not able to grasp it.
7 Where can I go to get away from your Spirit?

I would like to begin this message with a question. If I were to ask you, “where is the most dangerous place in America for a person to live,” How would you answer that? What would your response be?
Someone may say the most dangerous place in America for a person to live is the city of Los Angeles! There was a total of 208 murders in Los Angeles in 2020. Los Angeles has a daily average of 0.84 murders per day!
Someone else may say no, no, the most dangerous place for a person to live in America is New York City. There was a total of 305 murders in New York City last year. That is a daily average of 1.22 murders per day!
Someone would undoubtedly rise up and say, your both wrong the most dangerous place for a person to live in America is the city of Chicago! There were a total of 524 murders in Chicago in 2020. That is a daily average of 2.1 murders per day!
THOSE ARE GOOD GUESSES BUT THEIR WRONG! THE TRUTH MAY STARTLE YOU….THE MOST DANGEROUS PLACE TO LIVE IN AMERICA IS NOT IN LA, NOR NY, NOR CHICAGO! NO, NO, NO!

REALLY WHERE DID YOU GET THAT IDEA, YOU ASK?
The World Health Organization just recently reported that there are 1.37 million abortions a year in America!
That averages out to about 3,753 per day!
156 every hour!
2.6 ever minute!
1 about every 20 seconds!
In fact Abortions outnumber lives birth in 14 major metropolitan areas in America!
And, Abortion is THE MOST FREQUENTLY PERFORMED SURGERY ON ADULTS IN AMERICA!
So if you were to ask me, where is the most dangerous place to be in the America today, I would not say LA or NY or Chi-town or Youngstown, or the south-side of Youngstown, or any other locale you can think of, no, no, I would insistently say the most dangerous place for a person to be in America today is in a mother’s womb!
That is why, I’ve asked permission from Cody and Natalie to speak on this subject. What I’ve entitled my message after..
The Sanctity and Sacredness of Life!
And quite frankly there are not enough adjectives that I could add that can adequately capture the sanctity, the sacredness the preciousness of life, but using this occasion to speak on this subject, I would like to make this proposition to you this Lord’s Day afternoon…
That a study of the sanctity, and of the sacredness of life, specifically life in the womb, as it is depicted in scripture, will help us to see wonder and awesomeness of life in the womb, as well as the wickedness that is involved in the aborting of it, according to the scriptures!
And so I would like to begin by hitting this subject head on by having us consider:
I. The Sanctity of Life (In the Womb) as It is Depicted in Scripture!
By that I mean looking at life in the womb not from a political perspective, and the reason, I’m using that term, is because the topic has been highly politicized, but rather to look at it from a biblical perspective:
A) Perspective? Being, the starting point of…
1. Where does life come from?
2. What, or better said Who is responsible for conception?
3. What is conception?
a) A biological act?
b) Something that is performed by the Hand of God?
i. Science of conception?
a. Simply put:
i) Conception is the successful joining of an egg and sperm.
ii) Conception is the time when sperm travels up through the vagina, into the uterus, and fertilizes an egg found in the fallopian tube.
Cleveland Clinic- Fertilization happens when the sperm penetrates the egg, causing changes to occur in the protein coating of the egg to prevent other sperm from entering, and at that moment fertilization takes place which means, your baby’s genetic make-up is completed, determining its gender, height, hair, eye and skin color. – Wow!

"Human development begins after the union of male and female gametes or germ cells during a process known as fertilization (conception).”
Langman, Medical Embryology Encyclopedia’s 3rd edition published by Williams and Wilkins, 1975, p. 3] -"The development of a human being begins with fertilization, a process by which two highly specialized cells, the spermatozoon from the male and the oocyte from the female, unite to give rise to a new organism, the zygote."
Q: What is a zygote?
A: A Zygote is a fertilized egg cell that results from the union of a female (egg) with a male e (sperm), resulting in the embryonic development of a human!

iii. Again my point is that MANY, MANY, MANY -Scientist agree that life begins at conception!
a) In fact in the current draft of its new strategic plan for 2018-2022, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) defines human life as beginning at conception.
b) From at least 1968 to the present day, medical textbooks and scientists have been explaining that there is a specific,identifiable moment when every human being begins to exist: the moment of conception. The child’s heartbeat soon follows, 22 days later — and possibly as early as 16 days later. Brain waves can be measured at six weeks, and in the first trimester of pregnancy, the human baby learns to yawn, kick, curl up in her mother’s body, and suck his or her’s thumb.

1. Again and again the scripture say, that a pregnancy, that results in the birth of a baby comes from God alone!

1 Samuel 1:1 There was a certain man from Ramathaim, a Zuphite from the hill country of Ephraim, whose name was Elkanah son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite. 2 He had two wives; one was called Hannah and the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had none.
Q: Why?
1 Samuel 1:5b The Lord had closed her womb. 6 Because the Lord had closed Hannah’s womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her.
Genesis 20:17 Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelek, his wife and his female slaves so they could have children again, 18 for the Lord had kept all the women in Abimelek’s household from conceiving because of Abraham’s wife Sarah.
III. The Specifics of the Sanctity and Sacredness of Life (In the Womb) as It is Depicted in Scripture!

1. “Created” (NIV) is an intriguing word.
a) Possessed (KJV)
b) Formed (ESV)
i. Formed -???????? (qa·nî·?a) - to get, acquire, originate create, possess, to give birth to!
B) Point?
1. It is God Himself “creating” the fetus, and guiding its development in the mother’s womb.
Psalm 139:13a For you created my inmost being; - NIV
C) Perspective?
1.“My inmost being” (“reins” in the KJV) is the Hebrew “kilyah”, literally the kidneys or inmost parts — meaning, figuratively, the seat of emotions.
2. “The term is used for the innermost being, the soul, the central location of the passions” (NET Notes)
3. God is the Creator of our inmost being!
a) Not just our internal organs
b) But our Soul!
i. God has created in us an eternal soul!
Q: How did He do it?
Genesis 2:7a And the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground….
ii. He took some dust from dust, our mothers and fathers…
Genesis 2:7b and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life,
i. “The breath of life” is the human spirit.
ii. This Hebrew word, “BREATH” - neshamah, is the same word as for “spirit.,” in Proverbs 20:27
Proverbs 20:27 “The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the innermost parts of the inner being.”

iii. “The soul is our very self (cf. Matt. 16:26; Luke 9:25), a medium between our spirit and our body, possessing self-consciousness, that we may have our own personality.”
iv. Our soul relates to the psychological realm.
v. In fact, in Greek—the original language of the New Testament—the word for soul is psuche, which is also the root word of psychology.
4. PERSPECTIVE?
a) ONLY GOD CAN GIVE MAN A SPIRIT!
b) ONLY GOD CAN GIVE MAN AN ETERNAL SPIRIT!!
i. That is why:
Ecclesiastes 12 (NIV)
6 Remember him—before the silver cord is severed,
and the golden bowl is broken;
before the pitcher is shattered at the spring,
and the wheel broken at the well,
7 and the dust returns to the ground it came from,
and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

ii. It comes from God – AT BIRTH!!

D) PICTURE:
1. The Bible NEVER refers to a person as an embryo, fetus, or mass in the womb!
2. The Bible refers to that person and a BABY and that baby as a PERSON!

2. A SPIRIT FILLED FETUS, MASS, EMBRYO, BLOB?
a) NO, no, NO God DOESN’T FILL OBJECTS WITH HIS SPIRIT- GOD only fills people with His Spirit!
Luke 1: 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! 43 But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.

F) Performance of God:
Psalm 139:13b you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
1. “Knit” is the Hebrew “sakhakh”, meaning to plait or interweave, in this case sinews, and veins
Job 10:11a You clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews.
12 You have granted me life and steadfast love, and your care has preserved my spirit
a) Knitting also suggests PERHAPS ALSO the fantastic complexity of the human DNA genetic code
Psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
b) That literally means awesomely - noraoth, a Hebrew word meaning a high level of reverential awe.
i. It’s a staggering thing to think of what You have done in fearfully and wonderfully making me.
Psalm 139:15a My frame was not hidden from you
ii. Skeletal structure
Psalm 139:15b when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
ii. The “secret place” is analogues of the “womb” SEE v 13. As well as the “depths of the earth”.
iii. Implying that the womb is the most sacred place on earth for a person to dwell!
Psalm 139:16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
iv. Embryonic stage
v. My unformed substance is a Hebrew word that means something rolled together, something balled up before it unfolded, when it was just a genetic mass, when it was in an embryonic state before it began to unfold. You saw it, and You wrote in Your book everything that was going to take place for my days before any of them ever took place.”
vi. This is a picture of God being personally, intimately involved in the very first stages of life, life in the womb!!

1. To take a life in the womb is to take a life.
2. To take a life demands that a penalty of ones life is required

How one views abortion is a matter for our members to decide individually, based on personal standards—but they may not enforce their values upon others, who are equally free to make their own decisions on this issue

King – Just after I turned 14, the coven members came to me and said that I was going to be involved in an abortion in about 9 months. There was a sex party with all the male members between 12 and 15 and a female member over 18 and her purpose was to get pregnant, and then she was going to have an abortion in 9 months.
King – When I was told this, I said “cool” out loud, but had no clue what an abortion was. In my family, I think I heard my parents whisper the word abortion once when talking about somebody else, so I thought it was a dirty word because they whispered it and I had never heard that word anywhere else.
King – When I asked about what an abortion was to the coven members, I said I don’t know what I have to do here, they explained that there’s a baby in the womb and you are going to kill it. There will be an abortion doctor there to help you and there will be a nurse because it’s a full medical procedure.
King – My first question was, “is that legal?” The response was, “Yes it is, as long as it’s in the womb. As long as the baby is still inside the woman, you can kill it.”
King – That’s how it was explained to us. It was also explained that, ‘You are killing a baby.” They didn’t say that we would be killing a fetus or killing some cells in a body. None of that. It’s a baby.
King – Now, I don’t think I would have been okay with killing a baby outside of a woman’s body, but knowing that I could kill as much as I wanted to if someone was inside the body … in satanism, killing something or the death of something is the most effective way of getting your spell accomplished.
L.I. – Tell me about the first abortion you ever did as a satanic ritual.
King – The first one I did was about 3 months before turning 15. It took place in a farm house that was surprisingly more sterile than many of the other abortion clinics I had done abortions in. There was an abortion doctor and an abortion nurse.
There was a woman in stirrups about to have a baby who was surrounded by 13 top members of our coven, which were all high priests and priestesses. I was inside the circle with the woman and the abortion doctor.
All the adult members of my coven were there. There were several women kneeling on the floor, swaying back and forth chanting “our body and ourselves” over and over again. Off to the side were several male members of our coven all chanting and praying.
The ritual started at 11:45 at night, and the spell began at midnight, which is the witching hour, and the actual death of the child happened at 3:00 am, which is called the devil’s hour.

King – That particular one, which was probably one of the more heinous abortions I had ever done, the doctor reached in, ripped the baby out and threw it onto the floor where these women were swaying. The women looked like they were possessed, and when the doctor threw the baby out to them, they cannibalized the baby.
L.I. – Dear Lord! How many ritual abortions have you participated in?
King – Prior to being a high wizard, I did five. After becoming a high wizard, I did 141 more.
L.I. – Have you ever done a ritual abortion at a [high profile abortion facility]?
King – Yes I have. I’d estimate I’ve done about 20 ritual abortions inside these facilities, but I never counted. I just know that I’ve been in a lot of them

On January 9, 2019 Democratic Virginia Delegate Kathy Tran proposed a bill that would allow a woman to receive an abortion at full-term and even while in labor. In explaining to a reporter how Del. Tran’s new liberal abortion law would work, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, a former pediatric neurologist, said in a recorded and broadcast interview: “If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated, if that is what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.” In other words, infanticide. Stunningly, the day Del. Tran proposed a bill that would allow a live baby to be killed or left to die, she offered a bill to protect the lives of moths.

On January 22, 2019, the New York legislature passed a bill that allows abortions into the third trimester and even during labor. When the bill was passed into law, legislators stood up and cheered, and, to celebrate, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo lit up the One World Trade Center and other landmarks in pink, which, until then, had been a symbol of the celebration of life, i.e., a woman beating breast cancer.
Ralph Dollinger of Capitol Ministries – God’s View on Babies – Inside and Outside the Womb 3/18/2019 -New Mexico’s Decriminalize Abortion Bill would eliminate virtually all abortion restrictions, remove parental notification for minors, and allow abortion on demand for any reason, up to birth. Among other states that are considering such legislation are Wisconsin, Massachusetts, and Vermont, which is proposing the most radical abortion law in the world with no limitations. It passed the House on February 25, 2019, and now moves to the Senate. The Vermont bill even stipulates that a “fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus” has no independent rights, leaving experts to warn that opens the door to gruesome fetal experimentation.
Most recently, nationally, on February 25, 2019, pro-abortion U.S. Senators blocked the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act which would have forced doctors to provide medical care to a baby born alive in a failed abortion.
Q: Friend how did we get here?

Romans 1:26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.

V. THE SOLUTION FOR THE ASSAULT ON THE SANCTITIFY OF LIFE!
Q: Is there a solution, is there something we as the church can do?
A: Yes there is, and the old adage is – if I’m not part of the solution, then I’m part of the problem!
A) Proclamation!
1. One aspect of the solution is doing what I’m doing today…Preaching, Proclaiming what the Word of God say about the sanctity of life!
Care Net Ministries -A new national survey commissioned by Care Net found this out about abortion. The survey found that nearly 4 in 10 women who have had abortions were attending church regularly at the time of their abortion.
B) Problem?
1. Pastor’s where not addressing this from their pulpits on Sunday!
C) Politicilization!
1. Abortion, unlike the many other social problems churches address, has been thoroughly politicized.

Pray to End Abortion!
Pray for God’s protection on all unborn babies threatened by abortion.
Pray for mothers – to recognize and love their unborn children from the moment of conception; to have courage to face any challenges associated with their pregnancies; to turn to God for help; to overcome the temptation of abortion; that they’ll receive the support they need; to consider an adoption plan.
Pray for fathers – that they’ll commit themselves to raising their children and caring for the mothers.
Pray for family members and friends of the parents – that they’ll support the choice for life.
Pray for all who facilitate abortions: clinic workers, doctors and nurses, security guards and escorts – that they’ll admit the error of their ways and seek other employment.
Pray for all who have participated in abortions to repent and come to know, love, worship, and follow Christ.
Pray that more pro-life people will join the effort to stop abortions.
Pray for our elected leaders to put an end to abortion.
Pray for those who faithfully and sacrificially offer alternatives to abortion – pregnancy care centers, maternity homes, sidewalk counselors, etc.
Pray for couples to practice purity before marriage.

CRESTWOOD, Ky. (BP)–It was nearly a year ago that Missy Reigel stood in front of hundreds of people at Crestwood Baptist Church and shared her deeply personal testimony.
“On Thursday, Sept. 19, 1996, I had an abortion,” she told the Kentucky congregation.
Reigel shared about how she struggled to put God first in her life as a teenager and in college but got caught up in a life of drugs and alcohol, becoming a “slave to my sin.”
She recalled getting pregnant during a one-night stand, wanting to keep the baby, but instead becoming convinced by the child’s father and her friends that she was “too messed up to have a baby.”
Reigel described the abortion as the “worst thing I have ever gone through in my life.” She said the pain was excruciating, feeling “as though my very soul was being ripped out of me.”
Today, Reigel, 34, uses her story to help other women who have experienced abortions confront their own demons, accept God’s grace and forgiveness — and ultimately, heal.
According to GRACE Ministries, a Crestwood Baptist ministry co-founded by Reigel, 1 in 4 women age 45 or younger has experienced at least one abortion. Of those women, 70 percent claim some Christian affiliation.
Abortion is “like the secret sin. It’s like the scarlet letter ‘A’,” Reigel said. “People are afraid to mention it — especially in the church.”
GRACE is an acronym that stands for: Grieve the past; Receive forgiveness; Allow healing to begin; Choose to forgive; and End the Silence.
What Reigel and the women who lead GRACE Ministries try to explain is that Christ forgives all sins — even abortion.
“He does forgive us and He will heal us and He will bring us to a point where we can accept that Christ’s death was enough for even our sins,” Reigel said.
