Obedience is the key for success: Part 2
Genesis 26:1”….So Isaac went to Gerar, to Abimelech king of the Philistines.2 “The LORD appeared to him and said, "Do not go down to Egypt; stay in the land of which I shall tell you.”
Obedience is the key for success: God is not going to ignore people who are obedient and who take all efforts to please God despite the inconveniences. Are you listening? God appeared to Isaac! This is too beautiful friend, you cannot bypass a God who makes appearances just to tell Isaac not to go to Egypt. When you persistently go in the wrong direction despite God’s strong instructions then the consequences would be drastic; however, Isaac obeyed God and stayed in Gerar. When Isaac moved in there was famine in the land and you can imagine the condition of the city. I guess it would have been like a dry garden with bare trees, swaying with no fruits.
Isaac did not look at the dry land but He focused on His God who would never fail him, clap hands for God will you? Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold. And the LORD blessed him. Wow, don’t hesitate or retreat when you see famine, God is able to move past all the barriers and bless you. Obey Him, that’s it. You become an object of envy when you are blessed in the midst of famine. Be ready for the attacks. As I write this portion, few students left our school during this pandemic, teachers had left us and the situation looks grim; nevertheless, I look above from where my help comes and I look beyond the present situation. Anybody listening to me?
If you are facing problems in your marriage, do not file for divorce, patiently pray and work on setting right the broken parts, God will help you come out victoriously. If your facing problems in your work front or business, do not quit or resign……no……no….stay and be a conqueror. Be it mockery, criticism, humiliation or failure, persevere and be an overcomer rather than a coward to escape. When Philistines closed all the wells which his father's servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father, by filling them with earth, Isaac did not quarrel but moved on to the next ground, Because he knew for sure MORE IS COMING…..
