Rewards of a calling
The Bible tells us that what we want to hear at the end of the day is” Well done, good and faithful servant”. We are also told of crowns that will be distributed but because of the glory of YAHWEH end up at the feet of YAHSHUA because all the glory is HIS.
Before that day however, we want to be in good standing with our LORD.
Those who have fallen away from YAHWEH risk becoming miserable depraved debauchers. Ask Saul. In addition to eternal joys, children and servants of YAHWEH long to be in the company of their FATHER, fellowshipping with HIM and enjoying HIS presence. Scripture describes it as such. ‘Better is one day in Your house than a thousand elsewhere” Better be a doorman at YAHWEH’s house” “As a deer panteth for the water, so my soul longs for you”
Serving YAHWEH has translated into material blessings for some. There is nothing wrong with wealth unless it becomes your master. Be careful that material gain does not turn you into an enemy of YAHWEH.
Fame is another reward. Those who serve YAHWEH genuinely may get fame, recognition and respect on earth. It is not a must. However, almost every servant of YAHWEH can testify to a time when they were treated with utmost respect and favor. There is also a danger here in that one may think they are being treated courteously or discourteously on their own behalf . Focus on YAHSHUA give all the glory to YAHWEH and give every difficult circumstance to HIM too.
