The incidence of Cain and Abel is often retold in our times. So often, so common a tale, that perhaps its message is lost. In a nutshell, two brothers born after the fall, Abel’s sacrifice is accepted by ELOHIM while Cain’s is rejected. Read in Genesis 4
In spite of YAHWEH speaking to Cain, he( Cain) lets sin overwhelm him and in a fit of rage leads his brother to the field and kills him. Note that even after killing Abel, the sacrifice of Cain was not accepted by YAHWEH and the work/assignment of Abel was not transferred to Cain but instead another was born by the name Seth to replace Abel.
In the church today, this aspect of the spirit of Cain keeps rearing its ugly head. Jealousy and envy greatly hinder the work of GOD. Those with no gifting and /or call in certain areas “kill” those with gifting and calls in those areas, and the vicious ugly cycle continues, leaving sorrow, vacuums and bad leadership in the church and YAHWEH having to look for replacements. As YAHSHUA put it in Matthew 23:13-13 But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of Heaven before men; for you do not enter, nor do you allow those entering to go in.
This wicked attitude in the church must stop. Let the children of YAHWEH let other children of YAHWEH thrive. You don’t even have to help them but by all means do not be a stumbling block to fellow believers. A lot of times believers destroy other believers in the guise of helping with all good intentions. YAHWEH did not tell Cain to help Abel ,HE told him to watch that sin does not have him.
As YAHSHUA said if you block others it would be better for you that a millstone was placed around your neck and you drowned. Let others thrive in whatever areas they are thriving in, especially within the ministry.
Note that even before the first murder or death occurred, pride, envy and anger existed all in one man. Even the intervention of YAHWEH did not deter Cain from his evil way.
Key Lessons from Cain and Abel
Watch out for pride, anger (overt or covert), rage and jealousy. These are not tangible things. They are powerful emotions in man. If not dealt with, renounced or handled carefully will find expression in the most heinous of acts. You must rule over them.
Killing your brother or sister, hating them or harboring evil intentions against them will not result in the good they have or that which you are envious of being given to you. After killing Abel, Cain was still not accepted and neither was his sacrifice but instead banished and became an ancestor of a lineage that introduced divorce, weaponry and revelry and eventually was all wiped away in the flood.
When you have such evil thoughts eh anger, YAHWEH speaks.. see what HE tells CAIN
Genesis 4: 66 And YAHWEH said to Cain, Why have you angrily glowed, and why has your face fallen? 7 If you do well, is there not exaltation? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is toward you; but you should rule over it.
YAHWEH expects you to rule over sin not succumb to it. You must rule over evil thoughts against your brother. When you conspire internally against others ,YAHWEH is not with you and HE will definitely punish the external manifestations of this conspiracies. Do not expect HIM to come and keep telling you over and over. Already HE has said “..you should rule over it.”
PSALMS 50: 19 You give your mouth to evil, and your tongue frames deceit. 20 You sit; you speak against your brother; you give fault to the son of your mother. 21 You have done these things, and I have kept silence; you thought that surely I would be like you; but I will rebuke you and set in order before your eyes.
YAHWEH is merciful and slow to get angry but punishing HE will punish transgressors. Look at Cain’s elaborate punishment. Contrary to what people say among many other punishments, there is a hell and those who reject YAHWEH, HIS SALVATION YAHSHUA and HIS commandments are headed there.
Sin is always knocking especially in these times but you must rule over it. YAHWEH expects it.
